Wow, thx for sharing. Many people are waiting for the unicorn to be delivered let alone race. And be o. the podium would be neat to see.  Not all comments made are from "haters"  rwg spreads plenty of negativity about his competed brands, enough hate for everyone.

 
Not only that, but there isn’t really a huge difference between a turbo car and N/A car in desert racing. Turbo cars make up time on straightaways but in loose dirt, it’s hard to put the power to the ground unless we are talking about a full production car which Max isn’t racing against. Small car for small car Max is doing very well. He understands how to control the power. He is a very good driver that’s for sure. The Speed issues while he was driving weren’t his fault. Can’t wait to see a Speed car actually enter and finish a race to see how they do. On paper they should dominate, but that doesn’t always mean anything.

It's unfortunate that this car can't be 100% made in USA, sure. And I know Polaris and can am assemble some cars here, but at least 80% of the parts have a Mexico, Taiwan, or China stamp on them. So is there really a valid diss there? 

And also yes, Hisun isn't known for superior quality. But that comes down to the team in charge of quality control,  100%. So I'm keeping an open mind on that.

A lot of justification going on there ...

I still think its hard to say without squinting really hard that its not piss-poor execution on Speeds part , and I truly hope it gets better, and thats "possible" from my years of managing products, but its very rare. The hard part starts when the product gets out the door and its in real users hands, all that "testing" never emulates IRL

I am actually getting excited to hear this might finally but the time we'll see these cars and it would be nice to have one.

I know RG is trying so hard to avoid that "first year product" issue everyone has (I never buy the first year anything or the 1.0 release etc.)  and Maybe RG taking extra time will soften that blow and all the other companies are just stupid and or lazy... (some truth there)

Your point on China is well taken. I am typing on a MacBook Pro built in China  - supervised by over 1,000 Apple Badged US employees that get rotated in and out of China every 6 weeks (TERRIBLE JOB IMO)  - thats really what it takes IMO to maintain quality

When I was on my tour in the plant Apple was upstairs and, Dell laptops were made downstairs, Dell had a total of Zero Austin based employees there and Apple had over 100 US Based in that plant alone, So not all China products are created equal  there are ways to assure good execution and ways not too and just wing it ...

Proof is going to be seeing how great a car it is... and hopefully its real good and its real soon.

It's easy to armchair quarterback all that has occurred, but keep in mind it's all in fun - mostly.

Campfire talk, jokes and poking. 

Polaris was the butt of jokes for YEARS.

I'm sure soon SPEED will serve up a huge plate of STFU to the haters...or crash and burn.

Who knows...I hope its the best SXS ever to be honest...that would be a great story for sure.

Get it and agree 100. My first encounter with Robby was glamis in his trophy truck, back in the late '90s. He was camped right across from us and had some shocks for sale. Buyer had to sign a waiver stating they would not attempt to open/ disassemble the shocks. Thought it was a douche move back then, but now I know he knew things about shocks that practically nobody knew back then.

I’m out of the  ‘game’ for a spell. .. now I’m thinking more of buying exactly what I had instead… I’d prefer to buy my old one back if it’s still running, etc. 

If not .. today I’d buy this white one….

exact same pedal position in my polaris models... and I've been braking with my left foot for 8 years after my MX accident on MLK DAY FEB 2015. Looks just like where I put my feet in the Turbo S's.... I'm confused...

I paid $30 for an app that takes a regular photo and makes it with AI today…. Im also a ‘face painter’ too… :rofl:

Max unfortunately falls to the fate of lack of prep on the race cars and rushing to get things done.  He has shown moments he can be very competitive in certain races.     You can design the greatest car ever and it will not matter in desert racing if you don't prepare.   

The Speed UTV will be at least a year of teething pains racing in the desert.  They need a solid season to sort out what issue will arise and how to fix them.  In my opinion, this will take a team that is not RG run to figure out.   RG has too many candles burning and does seem to have the time to focus.  If he dedicated 100% of his time to the desert program it would be winning.

I never posted it was anyones car, I merely shared a unicorn wanna-be sighting at a race.  Some of the "well wishers" chimmed in about the messiahs son and his conquest for greatness.

In addition it should be noted that the one I posted never raced.  Although there were 3 other unicorn wanna-bes, sorta.  2 DNF, and one finished near last, with only a couple laps of the five total laps.

If he does not get the CARB certification it will be a race only ride in CA.
