Is that the one that went end of end a few times?Ouch! Wonder how beefy those radius rods and trailing arms really are? Looks pretty thin walled to me. People just love to abuse their new toys.

Swing axle? In the front?...WeirdThis is an interesting IG post. Allot of the guys commenting are very reputable in the off road fabrication and design world. Craig Hall is a design engineer in the Motorsports industry. Shops like AlumiCraft , Camburg, Herbst etc.. hire Craig to help deign and make the programs to cut the material out.

All that sounds about right.Shock Therapy just did a show on what they are doing for the Pro R. They said they’ve been doing some testing, but getting lots of feed back from racer's or from the few owners that have them.
Issues they have found or are being told about. Springs are sagging and taking a several inches set. The inner tie rod on the rack side is pretty small and they are seeing this bend or shear. The new power rack design is also seeing issues when raced or ran hard as the power motor fades in & out. The typical sway bar links are thin and the bushings fail. They are also building a new lower shock clevis to replace the cast piece that failed on Matlock.
In the rear they have seen radius rods break or bend, and they themselves had a radius rod bend in testing. Another surprise was the toe link rod. Racers have reported the eccentric adjuster on the toe link is galling the aluminum hub and has spun or stripped the threads. They said several racers have had to tighten the adjuster several times during a race as it comes loose. They are building a new toe link that is more like a tie rod with threaded bungs and rod ends on both sides. This removes the eccentric nut.
They have not cycled the bump steer yet but will be soon, but we all know it’s there. Lastly they said removing the front shocks was a bitch. You need to remove the plastics on the front. Because of the clevis you can’t drop the shock down or to the side, and with all the plastics you can’t lift it up. They dogged Polaris in saying it was a bad design and not thought about. This would explain why it took Matlocks so long to change a shock. I think the first time they spent close to an hour working on it.
One of the guys on my AZP ride was the one that filmed that video. He mentioned the car was totalled. Total bummer to have a new ride wrecked.Just saw that Harry who owns this Alba tuned Pro R was in a head on crash with a Turbo S over Presidents Weekend. Both cars are totaled, but sounds like everyone walked away with only bumps & bruises.
Accidents do happen on occasion.Do these things have some sort of visibility problem? Are the owners wearing their helmets backwards?
