1967 Dodge A-100 Hot rod sort of rat rod build thread.

I dunno what you call em, but...

The skid plates, that throw sparks, when you're doing a wheelie?

🤔

A light bar would be too obvious.

🤔

Is whatever is hiding under the red fender cover, gonna mount to this?

Hint #1

I figured as much work as I have in this truck I might as well be able to light up the back of it at night. 14 LEDs total. Lot of light coming in this building and it is still bright. Should really glow at night. My SEM gun that squirts out the panel Bond didn't look to be mixing correctly so I just squeezed it on a piece of cardboard and mixed it like epoxy. Probably because it has been sitting around for a while. At least I had enough left. Those pieces are never coming off now.

Amazing how it feels like the world slows way down when you start soldering wires. At least it is somewhat relaxing because I am so wore out. This thing had two original dome lights at each b pillar. Bought a pair of LEDs and tore them apart to paint them. Each one has a toggle switch and I will be able to reach in either window and turn one on from the outside. These will only get used if I want to light it up like daylight. They are stupid bright.

My brackets under the bed rails for the 14 LEDs came out really good. Those suckers are panel bonded on forever. There is also 1/4-20 bolts welded on so we can add adel clamps and clean that wiring up. You won't see it when the truck is on the ground just standing a normal position. Each side already had four holes in the top of the bed rail. So I use those for some partial holding power on all the brackets and I just put a carriage bolt in each one. Finishes off the bed so it doesn't look unfinished as well.

I couldn't for the life of me figure out the mounting! 🤣

Makes sense now. 👍🏼

I really wanted a billet dome light on the roll bar just like the Funco. Also added a LED under the dash on each corner by the door. So those three lights will be controlled by a switch on the center console. So really two sets of lights and I will be able to light this thing up like Christmas inside the cab. LOL. I did learn today the old trick blowing a piece of string through the tube with a blow gun also works if your wire is light enough. Haven't run wire through a piece of tube since I rewired the Funco a long time ago.
