Speed UTV

Any actual updates from the new owners? I didn’t hear anything about new cars breaking so that should be a good thing.

I was out in Havasu on Sunday at the Speed building.  Saw all the cars and happy new customers. I dont think they care about the hiccups that speed has had.  They are just excited to be apart of this process. The cars really are good looking.  I do believe I will own one when they work the bugs out.

So did 2 really break?  Yesterday was the big 150 mile ride.  Be interesting to see Chupacabra's video of the ride.

Find it interesting that people look to have bought pumper systems and not one is wearing a helmet. Dusty rides are a lot easier with the pumper going.    For a dude that promotes safety you would think RG would throw a helmet on.   I know it is AZ and you don't have to wear one.

At least the welds are the best looking in the industry.

Yes, great welds.

But a Zip Tie coming loose and causing an issue that stops a UTV? I wonder exactly WTH that zip tie was holding, no details on that, but it was a show-stopper. Maybe they need robots adding the zip ties.

The alternator deal, that's fixable.

I only read about the loose wire on an alternator.  What was the alleged issue with the other car.

Sounds like some minor issues which happens.

End of the video @Crusty posted said one was an alternator, the other was a zip tie.

I assume the zip tie was the only thing keep the wire out of spinning death, so the wiring got chewed up.

Alternator wire coming loose sounds super dangerous. Most aren’t fused.

Early Adopter Issuers  - they will get better over time - Its a Milestone albeit a small one  - How many RzR's did Polaris produce on their first run?  1000's ?
RZR 800 probably had several thousand on the first production run.  They sold a ton of those things.

I am more interested in how the dealer network gets sorted out and how they will be set up for warranty/repair work and parts.   I have said it before this is what will make or break Speed UTV.

The design of the car itself is solid.   Once they sort out the issue it should be a great car.    If they don't have a strong dealer support people will look for another ride.  Especially when you are looking at $60K for a Speed UTV if you were not an early deposit holder.
