We are fkin doomed

I am definitely all up in that stereotype but play no part. My whole family flies that Mexican flag proudly to which I don't understand and have constant friendly arguments and jabs about it. I am a proud American and respect the dunes more than most. If you disrespect ol' Momma G in front of me, I'll be in your face regardless of what you look like. They have learned way back since the first trip I took them there. Now I'm proud to see them correcting others. Believe me, nobody wants to be stereotyped but hey, that's life. Just know that because they are flying a different flag in this great free country, doesn't mean they are trashing the place either but you do you.
my self and other have said the same thing, feel kinda bad about lumping everyone in together as there are good people that share the same characteristics like yourself BUT those are the ones causing alot problems, how else can we address it? more times than not the stereotype checks out. there were camps by us this weekend playing loud banda all night and setting off fireworks using a certain flag for a whip, after they left we went and cleaned up the trash they left. the other camps around us picked up after themselves. group infront us of at the hill, same music playing super loud in their cars, same whip, throwing beer cans on the ground as they reach in their ice chest to get another one.

:laugh1:

Trash, Fireworks and Noise have NEVER been a problem in Glamis, ever.....

There is a :crusty:  population boom right now and every issue at Glamis that has always been an issue just went thru the roof.

Now folks are pointing fingers at people instead of addressing it with the BLM.

"Zero tolerance" will result in BLM/LEOs harassing and going after more "soft targets"...i.e....more harassment of good duners.   They don't want to go after the thugs or, ...I'll say it...Mexicans...because they don't want trouble.  Now don't go translating this as racist...lots of white, biller thugs and idiots of all colors and backgrounds...we just know who is causing more problems than others.

Why do we stereotypes...because groups present a common thread.  Otherwise we wouldn't stereotype.
Unfortunately, zero tolerance is zero tolerance. It effects all shapes and colors. I welcome it with open arms because it’s proven to work in the past and it’ll work again. Flood the place with LE and I’ll wave as they go by. Thanking them for clearing out the riff raff.

or we can wait until the problem fixes itself? Get in line right behind Chicago and Portland

Except the Leo's out there don't know how to do it properly... Zero tolerance shouldn't come with disrespectful bholes

PS. I get that they deal with bholes all day long, maybe they should run a shorter shift

Sounds like 2001 or 02 all over again. Or was that 2003, or maybe 2004, ?. Crap I can't remember. Was glad I camped in the deep washes back then. Hehe. Is probably the only thing you saw of me ..

Facebook hinted at a similar event. Check it out. I wonder how many of these folks were there to hear the "Banda Music" oh, that's right! It wasn't one of those events.

Let's not judge stupidity until stupidity rears it's ugly

Real money maker on you tube and fb. Ohh and by the way you just got advertised punked. By them.

As far as the amount of trash left behind, in my humble opinion as a 39 year duner on this is that when a big conglomeration like Polaris comes in and advertises it as and then throws it as a party, then a fair amount of this is on them. You have to remember that typically the guests don't clean up the party, and that mentality was shown this weekend. In all reality, they are the ones making themselves look like dumbasses to the 20+ year duners because of the negative things it brings to the dunes, seen lots of people say they'll never go back, not a great look for Polaris overall.

This is 100% true. They are more than capable of writing tickets and towing cars without acting like jackassses. However, the mere act of writing the ticket and towing the car does not make them the jackass. Those are often misconstrued by rule breakers. I.e. “He was such a jackass, he took my buddy to jail even though he only had 3 beers. He was the most sober to drive.”

Or the probably cause folks of which know nothing about probable cause. Or the I don’t have to give you my license or the I don’t have to get out of the car or the…….insert case law they know nothing about but a few Bud Lights gave them a law degree. You couldn’t pay me enough to do it.

Since when do folks camp right up  against wash road.  they turned the whoops into a one lane road in some places...

it almost looks like this dude was sitting with his front tires @ the edge of the water & then gunned it like he was going to shoot across the water.....

Parenting is a HUGE advantage for kids respecting others and the property of others. Job well done Chingon619. And to other parents who have raised the kids to Respect. Peace

While I totally agree with you in principle, The zero tolerance never goes well for the people who 99.9% of the time don't break the law. Sure some of the jack asses get the message and go to another location pretty quick but it is us the people who break a rule or two unbeknown to us.  You know

Wife brings the glass jar of mayo and puts it out on the table for dinner

Kid breaks his whip flag 1/2 mile out from camp so you carry it back instead of fixing it there

You don't put on your helmet to load the bike on the trailer

and then there is the one everybody loves

Sitting around the campfire nice and quiet and the BLM comes in lights and sirens and says they chased somebody into camp or just saw fireworks come form your camp and now are going to crawl up your butt with a microscope.

Sure this kind of zero tolerance runs the bad people away, It also makes some of the good people leave as well.

Out of all the times I have been hassled I may have "broken" the rules but not once did I deserve the level of harassment I recieved. Now I see them roll into the wash instead of waving hi or offering them a water if they do roll  into camp. I go into my trailer until they leave.

Mornin' Cheff, yea man. Surprisingly, my kids were naturals. Maybe because I'm always preaching lessons around them. It's the extended fams and their friends that I had to teach, sometimes in the most rudest way. My favorite is around the campfire lol I'll get up and say "I'm going to take your empty beer can to the recycle bag and grab me another beer from the cooler right next to it, you should try that next time". Some have went to bed right after, and some take it extremely well and say "my bad".

I think the people that trash G are the same people that throw trash out of their window of their car. I could only imagine what their houses look like! I never understood the pure laziness of people to throw their empty's on the ground and or leave their campsite trashed. So many people grew up with their moms and grandmas cleaning up after them and they feel the same applies to camping in the desert, AKA its someone else's job to clean up after them.

I will put a ton of blame on the SXS crowd as the ease of financing has truly brought out people from all walks of life and ethnicities. They bring their don't give an F attitude to the desert and at the end of the day it makes the whole desert community look bad. People from outside of the off road community group us all together as a whole.

I know there are crappy people from all races but I have never been kept up at night by some classic metal or 80's hits!!!

Maybe that's why they do it: Grandma doesn't like the noise/dust of the desert, and is therefore not there to huck chanklas at rulebreakers?

What I have seen on Social Media  at least is that these people think it is part of the Mad Max/ Road Warrior mantra.  They think they work hard and when they go to the desert they are owed the anything goes way of things.  They don't want us old boomers telling them to keep it down pick up your trash respect your elders and neighbors. That is what they have to do in everyday life and this is their release from that and if we don't like it  WE need to move on.
