Speed UTV

Read the fine or not so much fine print (actually larger than life) on that (cough) 'contract':
No refunds.
At that point...wait for it...you are taking someone's word that they can indeed deliver...or you do not obviously invest due to your appetite for risk.

I'm starting to not even feel sorry for some of you guys if the above is not clear to you given the obvious.
Contract for the accessories? That appears to be a standard retail transaction, not a deposit.

Refunds would apply for dissatisfaction. No receipt would be in breach of the agreement. Refusing to refund money for items that were promised but never delivered (and at this point, it's effectively never delivered) is fraud or stealing.

The easiest way to shut someone up over any claim of a 'contract' somehow being in force is to prod them to produce same in a court of law.
To my knowledge, no one is putting their money where their mouth is in this regard.
Case closed.

ok im not going to read the last 20 or so pages im thinking about getting a new sxs for the dunes is the speed even a option yet or just get a pro r and a aftermarket turbo.

How do you know nobody has not retained an attorney? You don't unless your are RG himself.

Most of the people seeking money back would fall into small claims court. Does not cost much and you don't need a lawyer. They would probably win on the accessories too. Maybe a few lawyer up and go for the gusto and depending on the claims being made lawyer fees might be part of the payout.

In this day and age you can air your dirty laundry about a company on social media as long as it does not fall into the liable area.
Maybe get that local news guy who does consumer reports to do a story.

For the dunes the Maverick R is hard to beat. 7 speed DCT with paddle shifting option, good suspension, and excellent handling.

Pro R with live value and ride command is an excellent choice. They really don't have belt issues.

Both are very reliable and there are deals on them.

Best to got to a dealer and sit in each and check them out.

....or wait for CFMOTO to very likely bring something to the table in the premier category (do a search) which leap frogs both as they just did with the Z10.
Choices are good.

He could but considering CFmoto has not released the more powerful wider model not really a choice right now.

I would be more interested in seeing what Kawi is bringing to the table.

It's going be a matter of how your timeline and bank account rules these purchases over the next few years for sure. No doubt that Kawi will have the opportunity to play a huge role given how the top 2 have somewhat pulled back in '24/'25. March/April deliveries not being disputed by CF for even their budget-minded 64" car leaves Kawi in a great position.

.

Two things to also consider:
1) Kawi released that video a long time ago (with much fanfare) and not a peep from them since.
2) CF just did the same thing with just as much fanfare or more...not a peep from them since...'plus'...dealers presently telling depositors that it 'may' be April of next year before any machine is ever delivered.
If anyone is interested in anything with the world presently on fire, an election about to change the course of history and a worldwide economic downturn scaring the heck out of everyone (?)...
...'waiting' might just be all that we can do for the foreseeable future.

...and if you're a SPEED devotee trying to figure out what just happened with whatever this sale or deal was all about(?)
I would be expecting an even longer wait given the above and whatever CF/Kawi splash in to the pool with next.

If you are Speed devotee currently waiting on a Speed car I would not get hopes of it being delivered anytime soon.

Was not up to Speed. Thats a Hisun decision.
So Hisun shifted Speed over to Vietnam, was that different from what Robby wanted?

Asking cause if anyone knew, you would.

I don’t know all the details, but I know Hisun was moving allot of final production out a China as they had the newer VN facility, and it probably helps with tariffs and global consumer concerns with China. Plus the VN facility now has the capability to do full robotic welding, they can paint, and do all the injection molding at the VN complex. I might be wrong, but I think all the pressure casting is still done in China, and I think the engine & drivetrain assemblies is still done in China. The China facility has huge dedicated machining and engine assembly plant facilities. Robby did a IG live tour one time showing the assembly rooms, which were super clean and used robotic to perform some functions. Using VN would also leave the China assembly lines for vehicles staying in China.

And Mexico was opened and some of North American production was moved there. I don’t know to what percent of vehicles are completed in the Mexico factories? I know they don’t have the capability to manufacture or built allot of components yet.

Then you have Texas, which is really the US headquarters, that houses U.S sales & marketing, parts & vehicle distribution, customer service & dealer support. I’m guessing TX assembly is just 20% of final assembly as vehicles are about 80% assembled and created to be shipped to TX for final assembly.

My guess and only guess is maybe at some point they could have planned to move Speed production to Mexico, but with the delays and changes, I’d guess other vehicles filled those production slots. Plus it comes down to costs. Speeds by far the most expensive vehicle they build. It’s probably cheaper for Hisun to build in VN then Mexico, and with Speed having to cover the FOB shipping costs, it probably makes more sense for Hisun to build in VN vs MX where they would be responsible for getting raw material parts made in the China factory or vendor supplied parts to Mexico for assembly. And VN is more of a one stop assembly facility, where they can pretty much do it all.

Also Hisun schedules different models or contract builds to go down the lines, if there is a hiccup or issue, my guess is your production gets pulled off the schedule and another product fills that spot. These factories are working 2-3 shifts 6 days a week. They’re not sitting idle because Speed or any contractor build is working on a fix, or maybe a has a parts supplier delay.
