My thoughts on the Pro R

Yeah, that. Sounded like it was only in “Baja”, which I assume is softer than “Track”, which I assume would pull some of the nose dive out of it.
Yes, works great in the dunes. It lowers the ride height and tightens up the car.

Baja mode raises the feel of the car due to stiffer compression setting. Track Mode is slightly less compression and more rebound making the car feel stiff and it does not lean as much in turns.

  • Baja Mode: Features high compression damping and low rebound damping. This creates a high dynamic ride height maintaining stability. The power steering calibration has been specifically design to eliminate bump steer and deliver response and feel through high speed desert terrain.

The Polaris Dynamix really makes the car a useful car that you can tailor to the terrain. I use Baja, Track and comfort modes while duning. Its a game changer in the sxs industry in my opinion. Now if they could just increase the fuel capacity and lower the seat height I would be ecstatic.

Yes, the fuel is an issue but as your probably aware there's AGM and RPM to help with it. Would be great is Polaris addressed it from the factory though. Personally I like the seat height but I'm not tall at 5'10. Have you adjusted the seat tilt bolts to see if it helps?

Two seater doesn't leave a lot of room for extra fuel but i carry two 3 gallon Rotopax on long desert rides.

I made a lowed seat pan that sits 1/4" above the batteries. About 3" lower with OEM seats. I prefer the Canam style seating position, that's the ONLY thing i miss about my X3.

Guees you'll have to get a MavR when the time is right.

Not sold on that car, too early to tell. I have a friend that's runs the EVO E85 tune and the trans tune isn't refined just yet. That transmission has too many nanny settings and engine does not have the low end torque to lug it around. And if it don't have Dynamics or very similar system i aint interested.

i bought a 2025 pro r so far i love it ride is awesome the stereo is awesome the power is ok i'm always looking for more but it is very capable the way it is. The heated and cooled seats and are comfortable the dash is nice alot of options there. The only thing i cant figure out is how much fuel it is using. it will read say 3/4 sitting flat than park it somewhere else its reading near empty then sitting on the slightest angle make the gauge have huge swings in level. i fill it of a transfer tank so i have no idea how much fuel i've put in it I'm going to order a flow meter for my transfer tank so i can get a better idea.

The fuel gauge is about worthless. I've filled up with it reading 50% and it took 6 gallons. I've filled up with it showing two "blips" (less than 25%) and it took 6 gallons lol. I typically use 6-7 gallons on a good ride (not the stop every 10 minutes for a beer bullshit).

I hear you on the fuel gauge, all sxs gauges leave a hug reserve and leave you guessing. I have done 88 miles then run out in Glamis and right around 110 in the dirt. Now that i have added the cams and new tune i think its worse. Only way is to figure it out is run out.

I said the same thing to my wife. Gonna grab a fuel can and run it until it don't run no more.

What are your thought and experience regarding the cams and tune? Did you dyno before and after, I only ask since I've heard it's not really providing 70 additional HP. I'm guessing it's the Bikeman setup. Point me to the thread if you've already answered this...thanks.

No dyno at all just Bikemans tune and products. I started with their 91 tune, bored throttle body, helix, clutch kit and RPM Shorty exhaust. Ran that for a year in the dunes and it really woke the car up especially in throttle response. I then added the cams and tune last month and only have one trip on it.

$50k :yikes:

Consider what you paid back in the day for yore car and then adjust for inflation. Now compare that to what you get with a new Maverick or Pro R. Methinks the modern cars offer a lot of value with having more features, warranties etc . . .

That being said, there is something amazing about a pure dunning machine with only a chassis, engine, trans, suspension (and body panels because you have to look cool too).

I like to picture my pure dune machine like an early mid-travel car, maybe a subi or a v6, super light and bare bones. About 200+ hp and under 1600 lbs.
