My thoughts on the Pro R

Took a day trip out to Gordon's this morning and had a blast. One of the guys in the group had a Mav R and wanted to race up the hill; what is it with you Mav R owners wanting to pick on Pro Rs? He was running a "100 octane tune that makes 309hp." Well I apparently have 310... We ran 4 or 5 times and it was the same result every time. These SS360s continue to impress with how well they hook up and they dune great. Car continues to put a huge smile on my face. Coming down I launched it off the top of the hill a number of times; a couple long enough to think to myself, hmm, I've been in the air a while.

Oh yea, the 309hp Mav R had Shock Therapy do his suspension. Don't waste your money...

Edit: this was a smart shox car so maybe the results are worth something on a car not equipped with them. Guess I should add a little context on why I said this. The car still sucks through the bumps with the ass end coming off the ground through whoops and the smaller step ups (like 4-6' dunes you're going over). I've seen Mav Rs getting through bumps great in videos but whatever bench tunes they're pushing out the door haven't worked on 3 cars I've seen now.

Just got a quote on a 2025 Pro R2 Pro Armor Edition $47k out the door
I bought mine in July right after the '25s released and got it for 36k out the door. I'd shoot for $40,500 out the door on the Pro Armor. $11k over what I paid is way too much for what you're getting on the Pro Armor. But you only live once.

I paid 39,900 OTD for a 2024 Pro R4 Ultimate a few months ago. He is looking at a ‘25. Doubt they are giving those kind of discounts yet.

I'm aware of what he is wanting and I'm giving a realistic price. The market isn't what it was 2 or 3 years ago. The days of commanding MSRP for a SXS are over. Dealers are still sitting on '24s and it will be worse for '25. That prices is 10% off MSRP out the door which is doable in a normal market (more so for one that has cooled off substantially from what it was a couple years ago).

You bought a 2024 or a 2025?

I bought the '24 because I knew I could get a good deal. I waited for the '25s to be released just in case there was something I had to have (engine, trans, or suspension improvements). I didn't care about the radiator heat shield, heated and vented seats, and the other minor changes.

Hopefully it works out. Do you have the Fox or Walker Evans?

Too bad you didn't have your buggy some great riding down here in the valley.

I saw this on another forum, apparently this is a picture of a transmission on a 2023 Pro R. Quite a few people commented that this is normal and nothing to be concerned with! I don't know it seems to me to be a shitty job.

Front diff was changed in 2023.5 to a better unit. Not sure what all was change, I’m still researching
