What's your opinion/take on the efforts of DOGE?

I want to see some hard evidence. We've all known about giving condoms to the Middle East; we've known that there are all kinds of social programs in other countries that we give money to. We've all heard about $10,000 in toilet seats and coffee cups. I want to see some clear evidence of money laundering or theft. All I keep hearing is we found this, we found that which isn't good. But it doesn't mean that it was nefarious, either.

And for the record, I back DOGE 100% as long as they're doing what they're saying they're doing. Elon's armored cybertruck contract should be canceled immediately, as Trump doesn't believe in electric vehicles. I know Elon would cancel it if it were anybody else.

For years, the National Science Foundation has raked in billions of taxpayer dollars, claiming to fund important scientific research. Instead, they’ve wasted that money on woke activism. A new report from the Senate Commerce Committee reveals that between 2021 and 2024, one in ten NSF grants was focused on social justice, race, or gender issues. That’s one in ten fraudulent grants. And this surge in DEI spending aligns perfectly with the Biden administration. In 2021, less than 1% of NSF grants were DEI-focused. By 2024, that number had jumped to over 25%.
The Daily Wire’s searchable database of NSF grants reveals exactly what you’d expect. In 2022, Columbia University received $4 million to “decolonize geoscience.” In 2023, Northwestern got $1 million to create “Storywork for Racial Equity in STEM” using insights from Karl Marx. The University of Pittsburgh received $1 million to argue that AI shouldn’t be neutral because it upholds a “capitalist, racist, heteronormative” society. And the NSF even handed out $500,000 to fund a study claiming “peer review” is racist. Apparently, demanding evidence is now “systemic oppression.”
This is systemic fraud. But for the first time in years, someone is taking action. The Trump administration is cutting the NSF’s bloated workforce and ending its endless taxpayer funding. Unsurprisingly, the media is outraged. Politico reported that the NSF plans to lay off between a quarter and half of its staff due to Trump’s executive orders. While the NSF is just one part of the problem, the NIH is another major offender. They’ve spent billions on administrative waste and political projects, including $180 million on non-healthcare expenses, like a Tony Fauci exhibit. This is what passes for “science” today—and why the whole system needs to go.

I think you'd have to define, hard evidence, first...

Something you saw or read on the Internet? We both know that ain't gonna cut it.

You wanna see the actual invoice? Like that couldn't have been doctored up.

To REALLY know what's what, you'd have to get a job as an actual investigator. And neither of us are gonna get that job. I'm not an accountant. Are you?

At some point, it Has to boil down to trust for us mere mortals.

You do not have "standing" to see the evidence.
The evidence will be displayed in court, then the public
will have access to the "Damning Evidence".
It's how things are done properly.
 
I just saw it first hand this morning! Had a meeting with the Phoenix High School District about our services (street sweeping). They called the meeting to go over their scope of work requirements. They said they are under the microscope on spending and need to account for all money spent "for the taxpayers"!! I was sitting there watching this lady scared for her job as I know they have not been caring how the money gets used, spent, wasted. They were very uncomfortable how I was speaking to them on the waste that really is incompetent people not doing what they are PAID for and spending OUR money with examples. I may not get the continued work, but it was extremely awesome to see how TRUMP is getting this taken care of. People can complain about the short term but long run will benefit EVERYONE!!
 
A couple of years ago it was forecasted to rain at least 5 days before a major holiday weekend, I think it was President’s Day but not entirely positive. I remember being amazed, but not surprised, when while it was actually raining I saw the water truck driving down wash road spraying water to keep the dust down.

There are only two reasons to be against these audits. You are either too stupid to think for yourself and fall into the “vote blue no matter what” category, or you are benefitting from the fraud and abuse.

I friggin love it, ya some decent programs and "good people" will get caught up in the cuts but it has to happen, if you took each one and individually debated and voted on it, it would take eons. My only concern is it is not NEARLY enough. I feel as if we are in too deep, any cuts and taxes to the level needed to pay off our debt would bury our economy and the political party which introduced them. Alls we can do is slow the "clock" down.

All I am saying is I'm not getting caught up in all the chatter and bullshit this time. I trust what they are saying, I want it verified.. is that too much to ask? We know how incredibly easy it is for lawmakers to make something look terrible when there is an explanation.

The $10,000 seats stem from lifecycle costs for acquisitions in Government. A contract is written for the lifecycle of say, a new building. These are generally planned for 30 years of support. Items in that acquisition have to be available for that entire window of time and the funds are allocated. Now somebody is on the hook for providing toilet seats that fit that toilet for 30 years. That toilet seat was spec'd for a 300lb person, 20,000 shits, and 10,000 open/closings. The contract also includes the maintenance costs associated with it.

This is another reason why Government building are horribly run down and poorly maintained after a certain number of years (30 in the example). There aren't any funds remaining after the 30 years to care for them.
 
We all knew it was bullshit, just hurts to finally realize that they were F'ing us with our own money.......They are traitors in my book and should be treated as such.
