Tatum Blackwidow build

That really sucks.  Hope you get your money back and get the work done by someone else.

Man that sucks, sorry to hear that.

You can try Jason at Next Level Motorsports. Hes in Riverside California but he does great work.

Making some more progress, Its the little details. new misalignment spacers, cutting grip length bolts, new skid plates, trans cable brackets. Getting close to having it back on wheels and moving on to the body and interior panels.

I don't want to rain on any parades here, but using these brackets with the shifter you have will reverse the cable throw (push forward upshift/pull back downshift).

This is backwards from how most people prefer (pull back upshift/push forward downshift), but it can be personal preference. It won't necessarily hurt anything as long as you know which way you are shifting.

It also adds drag to the cable having to make the 180º loop at the trans, which is not ideal for shift quality. It's best to bring the cable straight in from the back of the shifter into the front of the trans.

I'm only mentioning this as many are not aware of this. It looks like you could change this now before painting/powdering the chassis and having to change it later if you don't like it.

Thank you for the post, I definitley want to pull the shifter down to go from 1-2-3-4-5 and push the shifter up to go from 5-4-3-2-1

I will clarify to make sure i get it set up right.

Exact same as this.

EDIT: we did not end up putting it on, and is set the way Sean Recommends

Well since we aren't doing a new body/interior this season we are moving forward with a few other things.

I have decided to get the Holley Dominator ECU, If anyone is looking for a Holley HP ECU thats only be used twice send me a message, its for Sale.

Curious why you are switching from the HP to the Dominator? My understanding is the only real difference is if you need more then 8 i/o's or multiple O2 sensors. I'm certainly no expert here, just going by what I found when I compared and selected the HP based on engine builder's recommendation.

Holley HP does not support drive by wire. I want to eventually put in no lift shift and when i get the new whipple supercharger ill be running a throttle body thats around 132mm, Running a throttle body over 100mm with a cable is very hard at low speeds.

Wow. 👍🏼👍🏼

When i originally set out on this build I didn't think it would go this far, but of course one thing led to another and its looking like there will not be one thing left on this car from when I bought it. I had purchased the wrong clutch for the engine, but thanks to Sean at Weddle he got me sorted out quickly and sent me
the "WEDDLE 11" TWIN PLATE HIGH PERFORMANCE CLUTCH PACKAGE". Also did a new set of 934 CV's

Got the new fuel system set up, went with the Aeromitve pro series kit, and Injector Dynamics ID1300-XDS injectors. We also replaced all the fuel lines with black crimped BMRS lines and added a flex fuel sensor to run E85 if we choose too.

Got the batteries and kill switch mounted and installed. We are also replacing the battery cables.

Got the steering Rack rebuilt and new lines ran (don't mind the spray paint on the frame, its only temporary until we powder coat the frame)

Got Justin at SCU to make a shifter with the built in no lift shift package, and it is gorgeous.

Since the no lift shift requires Drive by wire, I purchased the Tilton pedal DBW linkage set and throttle sensor.

Now for the best part......... We finally got the new Gen 6 3.8L Whipple Supercharger, and this thing is insane. We also had Wegner Automotive make us a custom larger (5") intercooler for the whipple.

Stole these pictures of the custom intercooler from a friend of mine that did the same thing with his LS7, but you get the point.

We are pairing this with a massive 130mm DBW throttle body and Holley harness to control it. This thing is gonna be an absolute monster and if everything goes well we are headed to Dyno next Friday.

Wow - you actually have one of the new 3.8 blowers from Whipple. I thought they were just unicorns and didn’t really exist.

I was the most annoying person in the world for whipple and wegner automotive for the last 8 months, I am surprised they didn't block my number 😂😂 .

It never goes as easy as you think it will. We had a wiring nightmare and ended up having to overnight a new holley wiring harness. We had to reschedule the dyno to tomorrow, but SHE IS ALIVE

We were at the Dyno late last night at Dardan Tuned. I highly recommend Dardan to anyone looking for a Dyno and tune guy. He was working with us past midnight last night. He also tuned our No-Lift-Shift set up and drive by wire. We hit 950 Wheel horsepower and 800 pound feet of torque at 14 pounds of boost. We can easily hit over 1100 wheel horsepower but we ran out of injector and need a larger air cleaner. This stock engine comes with a warranty from GM while being able to run 15 pounds of boost (ours is fully built), We can push this past 23 pounds without a problem, although I will probably run the car where it is currently sitting for a little while.

I’ve seen videos of this car ripping out there. Any new updates to this thread?
