Speed UTV

I'd definitely keep an eye on these.  No nylon reinforcement I can see in them.
Thanks for posting this. My family and friends bought Speed cars and some are finally taking possession.  I shared this with my brother and he checked his (all good) and commented there are four of those boots on the car. The turbo boot being the most critical.

Unfortunately, after about 200 miles, his engine developed a serious knock about a half mile into a desert ride from his house.  He dropped it off in Havasu Monday and is waiting to hear back.

A couple of his friends got nervous with all the bad things happening with the turbos/engines/etc and sold theirs shortly after taking delivery and bought Can-Ams.

Twas a joke since everyone seems to be latching (see what I did there?) on to it.

That being said, all of the above definitely flew open on Max's car at KOH.
True, and I don't drive like that, and I haven't rolled it yet either. If you watched KOH, you would have seen a bunch of nets open.

Yeah.  I'm not really a fan of how they were implemented.  The smaller, easier to work with frame is great for recreation, and definitely better than nothing, but for real racing I think they're just too subject to failure.  Every window net I've ever installed or dealt with was installed with a rod and retention washers going into tabs welded to the roll cage on both bottom sides, and slid into a boss on one side, quick release latched or old school GM seat-belt latched on the other.  Were they annoying to deploy?  Did they fall down after unlatching and scratch chit? AbsoEffinglutely.  Did they ever open without prior authorization?  Nope.  Never.

Good luck to your friend.  I know 3 people with blown engines, 1 from thanksgiving and 2 from new years weekend.  None of them have there car back yet.  So expect if his engine is blown it will be in the shop for months.  Your other friends probably made smart movies getting can-ams until speed can be reliable and be able to service the cars.

I saw four Speed cars on a wedge trailer behind a white F450 headed east on the I-10 near Morongo casino around noon today. Don't know enough abkut them to tell what models.

Coincidentally the Chupacabra Speed car #6 was camped across from me for President's weekend. I talked to the owner and he was happy with it but said that was engine #2. Then I saw it getting towed back to camp and loaded up the next day. Didn't ask him what was wrong. Saw some videos on IG of it being towed. Someone DMd me it would be on engine #3 soon. Sucks.

Nick broke his transmission, it wasn't his motor. He's the first customer to loose a trans since they updated them last year. He only has 1500 miles on his car.

Crazy they are having this many engine problems.   I can see why they are taking their time with the E85 Speed Key tune.

I was only aware of one motor for Chupacabra, not 2 engines.

His last issue was the transmission, which Speed apparently fixed for him.  I saw his trailer heading east on the 10 just past Quartzsite yesterday.

First time I’ve ever seen so many Speed cars at the shop probably around 15-20 cars there maybe customers will be getting there cars soon or they’re there for warranty 🤷🏻‍♂️

Feel bad for all those that are having issues. Cannot imagine waiting so long for a product that was so overdue getting delivered. And then have it fail and have to deal with all of that. I have buddies still waiting for cars and I sure hope they get things sorted out. Can only imagine how much money is hemorrhaging.
