The reason is probably just a marketing thing. RV manufacturers would need to tack $10k+ onto an RV for it to have the diesel powertrain, and at that point they want to be pushing buyers up into diesel pushers.Yes I like the 8.1/Alison combo, and that’s why I’m in no hurry to look at something else. If & when we do, it will be a few years old, and it will have to have that new Ford V8 Godzilla engine in it. I’m told that's the gas engine to get if buying a new gas RV.
I also think if Ford would do the new Diesel engine in a gas RV chassis would be awesome. I’m not sure why they don’t, but I’m sure there is a reason they don’t.
