Rockwood's XJ

Installed WJ knuckles and brakes. Took only this picture to compare the two setups (2piston calipers as well with WJ). Have to redrill to 5x4.5 for the XJ pattern. Used a spare unit bearing and brake rotor as a template.

Used the unit bearing’s snout to center both rotors and drilled away.

Next time the wheels are off I’ll get more pics. Didn’t have time to use the high steer mounting point for the drag link since that would mean making a new link, so there’s more to come. Raising the drag link means I can raise the track bar, which means I’ll raise my roll center and reduce body roll. Can’t wait for that phase, but will definitely need to cycle everything to make sure it clears the oil pan and other crap.

Speaking of drag link… When I took my steering off the XJ knuckles, the rod ends (pure chinesium Barnes shit) were completely shot. Luckily, @Fullthrottleguy at Race Ready is 20 minutes away and stocks all FK stuff.

The difference between the JMX FKs and the Barnes stuff is immediately apparent. No bouncing drag link from brand new loose rod ends, steering feels great with no wandering. Shit I’ve been dealing with for years “because Jeep” have almost completely gone away.
