Padres Road to the World Series

There would never be thousands and thousands of hot Cholas in Dodger gear at the stadium if he had not sparked Fernando Mania back in the day. For that, I want to personally thank him.

Fun WS trivia: Debbie Gibson sang the National Anthem at Game 1 of the 1988 World Series. Nobody remembers this because, number one: Debbie Gibson, but also: Kirk Gibson's pinch-hit walk-off home run . . .

Great Game 2, on to NY.

Yamamoto, welcome to the WS...

The Boys in Blue!
We might have to change the name of this thread.:p

The Yankees have been swept three times in the World Series, I'm hoping to see a 4th.

It's a great feeling beating down the most successful team in MLB history with 27 World Series, much more satisfying then smacking around the Madres for sure.

Looks like LA might be getting the brooms out tonight, other than Friday nights game, LA has dominated this series.
Was funny to hear the announcer's saying that LA hasn't won the WS in 36 years, I guess they aren't counting 2020 either

Freddy is on Fire !

I agree, 2020 did suck (neutral site, no parade, short season). Maybe it only counts for half of a trophy. But it still belongs to the Dodgers.
By the same logic, should it count the same when a wild card wins the World Series?
If so, they are opening up Hall of Fame membership and will start calling it the "Hall of Pretty Good"......

Dodgers did sweep the Madres in 2020 in the playoffs.

in the last 9 years, Dodgers have been in the World Series 4 times, win or lose that is pretty incredible. Baseball is F..ckin hard

Shoutout to the Pads for helping the Dodgers prepare to win it all yet again! Maybe next year SD.
I'd like to give a shoutout to the Angel's for bowing out extra early! Maybe next year???
Hard to be an Angel's fan, but what are you gonna do!
Go Angel's....some year.
LMAO!

It is really nice to just think that the Doyers have the chance to sweep the Yankees in the WS for the first time since 1963 . . .

LA has proven to be a powerhouse team, especially during the regular season. I feel like they have had way better teams in the past that choked, I don't think anyone was expecting this years team to be the one, including LA fans. That being said, hats off to the Dodgers and their fans, they have had some terrible let downs in October and I'm sure this Ship will erase those memories.

Half of my friends and family are Dodger fans, So I will gladly celebrate a NL West Team winning it all this year.
I would like to think our newly found rivalry helped prepare LA for the win, Lets all be honest, SD vs LA was the best, most entertaining series of October.

Congratulations Dodgers !

That was the toughest series and could have gone either way. In my mind those were the two best teams in baseball. Glad it wasn’t a 7 game series. Yankees were up there. Can’t believe they laid down the way they have.

100% agree.

2017 team was probably our best team I had ever seen, Houston had other ideas on how to win. 2018, we were overmatched by Boston big time. 2020, weird year, I feel like it was anyone's year, we just got lucky and came back on Tampa Bay. You are right about this year, I had low expectations, but then again, I had low expectations in 1988 as well.........I love surprises.

In a couple days, we can speculate about roster moves and Free Agents. Do the Padres go after Alonso? Do the Giants go after Soto and Kim? Dodgers have other issues, after the playoff run, how do you afford Kike, Teo, Blake Trenian, or even Jack Flaherty. Should be fun to speculate.
