The outcome was kind of expected given that the Dodgers were throwing Casparius, Knack and Honeywell. It was discouraging that Hudson and Honeywell were as awful as they were, they didn't even give us a chance. Hate to start having the Yankees get confident at the plate, but the thinness of the starting pitching stuck us with this bullpen approach. Over the last 2-3 years, there has been a parade of live armed young guys called up with so much potential, but not one has stayed healthy and/or become a reliable starting pitcher. Sure hope Flaherty has it tonight.
I watch 50-100 Dodger games per year. Likely watched another 500+ games as my son was going through his own baseball journey. Last night, saw multiple things that I had never seen before. Baseball is funny that way, you can't just run out the clock. Kind of relieved its over, the last three weeks have been exhausting to watch.Last night was one for the ages . . .

Awesome story, thanks for sharing..... My Dad grew up in Montebello and was a lifelong Dodgers fan. We lived in Whittier until I was four, then moved up to the Central Valley. Its tough to be a Dodgers fan up here, 90% of the people are Giants fans. There was one station that would carry the Dodgers games when I was a kid (always super staticy), so Vin Scully was a constant. Amazing how, whenever he was telling a story, the at-bat or inning would last exactly as long as he needed to finish the story. Always that extra foul ball to extend the at-bat, as if that's how God wanted it.My mother moved to LA from Iowa in 1959, a year after the Dodgers moved from Brooklyn. Before I was born, she worked as a nurse in an pediatric office where the owner had season tickets and would sometimes give them to her. When my parents were dating, they got to see Sandy Koufax pitch in the 1965 World Series.
After I came along, mum quit her job and worked from home taking calls at night from patients with sick kids. The radio was always on in the kitchen, tuned to the Dodgers with Vin Scully announcing from the earliest I can remember until I moved out as an adult.
I’ve watched or listened to the Dodgers my whole life. My brother and best friend have season tickets so I’m lucky to go to a bunch of games every year. Unfortunately, mum passed away 5 weeks ago right as the post season was about to start, so this one feels a bit bittersweet. But it’s still fucking awesome
