When they came to my house the  vector control folks in san diego told me they came up from central America.  They have been watching the migration for about a decade now.  They got a lot better visibilty when they crossed the border and they began tracking them through the county.

FJB!!

I have gone full retard on this....  they Rae driving me nuts(er).

A couple of years ago I started making my own candles.  No matter what I put in them it does not chase them away.  The only thing that actually works (as long as there is bot a lot of wind) is the old school mosquitoe coils.)

I bought the old school zapper and it did not do anything.  So I bought the fancy one qith the fans and zapper.  I think they are too small, they get blown right through the zapper.

I've tried all of the bug sprays.  The only thing that works with the big mosquitoes is the deet.  It does not dissuade the small bastages.  Skin so soft is simply seasoning for them.

I just bought these dynatraps.  I have the 1/2 acre one in the garage running 24/7 and the 1 acre one in the back yard under our table running 24/7.  The kne in the back yard has a ton of bugs in it with some of the larger mosquitoes.   I have not opened it up to see if there are small ones yet.  The one in the garage has a few of the small ones in it, but nothing else.  They have been running for 5 days now.  I have rhe catchy on my work bench and it comes on when I trunk out the lights.  It's full of stuff this week.  A number of mosquitoes for sure.

I also have an organic bug spray on the way.  It was recommended to us by someone in AZ rhat spends a lot of  time outside and had lots of both of them.  She swears by it and it seemed to work for the short period we were there.

I've also made water traps with dish soap and these pelets to teap them and to kill the larvae.  I just did those, not sure how well they will work.

Oh yea.... I bought a bat house, but have not put it up yet...  if the weather has turned I might wait until next year and out one on each side of the house.

An old buddy of mine lives in Holbrook, AZ. He told me his dad was a little crazy. One day I was visiting, and his dad asked me if I wanted to see his mosquito houses. I said sure. He showed me a tiny version of a bird house, about 1" x 1", hanging from a piece of welding wire and a small perch on the front made from a toothpick. I asked him if they really went into the house. He said, "Of course! Do you feel any of them biting you right now?" I said, "No."

He said, "That's because they're in there right now, effing!"

We naturally have done bats in the area. I don’t think they get these mosquitoes as easily as the fly to low to the ground. I see the bats flying at roof top hight. Never around the ground.
Ive heard this and it is a concern to me because if we get a colony of bats to move in and they don't do anything I have to deal with the bat crap for no reason.

I don't think you like Mosquito's, you are all in. DON~~~

I love Mosquito Bites. They make me itch. What's better than the itch? Peace

I showed this thread to the wife because we have a problem with these little bastards too! It makes working in the garage impossible! She said this crap works the best and then I asked well, wtf!!! Order it!!

Back to report the wife did her thing. I seen a major improvement in my garage. She said she sprayed the front lawn. I was over watering during the hot days but maybe it's also the weather cooling down?

I didn't get one bite today and i didn't put on any mosquitoe seasoning....

when they get bad here i just keep a fan plugged in and blowing on us they dont seem to fly in the slightest breeze

Those ankle biters are a pain.   I have found that running a fan at the height they like to attack keeps them at bay when I am working in the garage.

I spray my shop and patio with Black Flag before going in. DON~~~

A topic we can agree on here!! I love to sit outside on the patio. From Dusk till about 9:30 pm I get eaten alive!! Those invisible leg suckers! I’ve tried just about everything. Bug zappers, candles on the ground seem to work at times. Help!!! 😂😂
