Mosquito traps...

Come to think of it, I should have just bought Malathion?  can you still buy that?  My dad sprayed our house with it before...we never had skeeters....

@Realbadlarry, you can still get it from home depot.

I've also been bit by spiders in our back yard, they are going nuts this year as well.  It's super clear when they are spider bites though...

Here is what these Aedes Mosquitoes look like. They are black & white striped, smaller then your typical mosquito, stay lower to the ground and will bite multiple times, vs your traditional mosquitoes that bites once and moves on. This is why you will have multiple bites in one location.

This was from San Diego Vector Control. If you call them they will canvas your neighborhood checking for mosquitoes, and leave door hangers on your neighborhood doors.

Those little fkkerrs!! I see those! Black with some white spots. Shameless bastards! They bite while staring you down!! Ughhhh! Fugggg!

I use a mosquito net over my bed!   And this year they got inside the net 3 times so far.  :angryfire:  Effen bastards! They usually never bite the wife but now she is getting bit a lot during the day in her office.

so I bought an ortho hose end sprayer and mixed some malathion and some bayer garden bug killer...and sprayed the front of the house... I'll let  you know how it does...

I know some people who use mosquito dunks and purposely put out containers of water with those floating in it. Mosquitos will lay their eggs and they won’t hatch. More of population control and eventually wipes them out. For me in AZ i just wear long socks and shoes and pants if I’m working in the garage. I’d rather be a little hot than get bit

We've been fighting them for a long time too in Fountain Valley. Bastards are everywhere! Just redid the backyard and cant even enjoy it. Ill try anything at this pont!

My wife's work sell these.   We don't have much for mosquitoes but assloads of gnats and flies certain times of the year. I already like incense so we use these a lot.

Might help?  Smell nice.

Gonna try this.

Have two giant bottles of AVON skin so soft and was excited to learn about it on FB to keep the F'ers away but withing minutes got bit 3 times!  Bummer does not work for me so its either cover my legs with loose pants( old hospital srubs) and long sleeve or keep spraying deet on me.  The latter Im not a fan of to do daily as thats some serious chems being put on your body.  Someone will be a billionare if they were ever to invent something that actually works.  I even tried burning coffee grounds in my garage before and while I work in there.  Heard mosquitos hate the smell and leave, once again dont work for me.

I just wanted to say F' these little bastages!!!!   Is it desert season yet???

Up in central valley we have a lot too. They love me long time....
We have those grey/black with a stripe and something even smaller! All ankle bitters - no-see-ums, awful.....

None of the sprays OFF or yard stuff works around here, as all the neighbor hoods have SUMPs for gutter run off. They are all over, you can't control the skeeters with all the standing mud holes and farm water.

The girls all swear by this cream, but doesn't work for me.

We are getting hammer by them here in Poway. We have bought the hanging zappers, but it freaks the dogs out. We have the one on the first post, but hasn't done much. I know my neighbors have rain barrels and maybe that is the source. I'm going to do the bleach water down the drains. I didn't think of that. I can't even go on our backyard after 5pm. I think they are all just sitting on the fence waiting for me to walk outside.
