The breaker doesn't clean up that power coming out of the generator...........I had an issue with my fridge (new) and I was thinking it may have been my generator. At any rate I unplug the computer when I have to run it. I can run just about all the necessary stuff with a HF 4500w genny. No AC, no dryer (gas) but everythig else. I want to upgrade to a big inverter type but just not sure cuz we aren't shut down very often.I don't worry about that stuff. I have a legit generator breaker set up in my house panel.
I was in Havasu yesterday and grabbed a Harbor Freight 9k. Got it set up this morning and I'm running it with two halogen lights for load. I'll give it a 30 minute break in.
What they don't tell you- the display model has wheels, but it doesn't come with wheels. Also, no engine oil, but there's a sticker saying to add oil. I put a full quart in it. EDIT to add- it also doesn't come with a battery. Took two pulls and it fired right up. I'll get a battery eventually.
$799 down to $599 with my 25% discount.
It's LOUD as fuck. Way louder than my Honda 6500. But it's for the house so I can build a small enclosure I suppose.

In the mountains/foothills in San Diego. SDGE shuts the power down if the wind is blowing and it’s dry…Is all of CA out of power or just some areas? Peace
There was a year I was without power 14 days (not consecutively). You get tired of hearing a generator all day/night.OMG! My dogs don't even have a house. I'm not building one for a fuckin harbor freight generator I might use 3 times before I die.
Priorities people!
WTF!???
It's just hard to imagine living in a place where you can't depend on a reliable electrical grid. I live in the poorest state in the union or at least in the bottom 5 and power outages are the least of our problems. What is this, 1882? A third world country? In the mountains/foothills in San Diego. SDGE shuts the power down if the wind is blowing and it’s dry…

Sausage is farther up the hill and sees even more power outages
Yeah, California shit…It's just hard to imagine living in a place where you can't depend on a reliable electrical grid. I live in the poorest state in the union or at least in the bottom 5 and power outages are the least of our problems. What is this, 1882? A third world country?
If a utility is fined, it passes its costs onto its customers. The other utilities take notice and raise rates. The amount of electric cars here is staggering. It's just hard to imagine living in a place where you can't depend on a reliable electrical grid. Helps when the governor’s completely in your pocket:If a utility is fined, it passes its costs onto its customers. The other utilities take notice and raise rates. The amount of electric cars here is staggering.
CPUC imposes largest ever penalty of $1.9B on PG&E for Northern California wildfires
However, the agency permanently suspended PG&E's obligation to pay an additional $200 million fine that the utility said could derail its bankruptcy exit.www.utilitydive.com
CA would have a SWAT team take you out if you tried to run that.........25 yrs in state prison.I picked this one up yesterday for United Rentals. It's a 1250 KW. There's actually 2 generating units inside. It weighs 86k lbs.View attachment 132954

Yep. We had a nice refrigerator crap out after SDG&E cut power. They even gave us a $500 check after a complaint.Sdge turning power on/off is just as likely to ruin these items. I had a freezer take a crap about 7/8 years ago after a very short power off.
