BFD Revo opinions

Well when a S4 cost $12k with rem polished gears back in 2013 when there was competition and now they cost $18-19k and there is no competition, is that a monopoly ?, is that inflation ?. IDK what to say other than WTF. If there wasn't competition between sxs companies do you think you could buy a pro r, Mav r, or x3 or  whatever for $30-50k new ?. Then there's always that financing argument.

Mendeola did their homework back in the day and payed the way for a lot of the stuff we have today.
A 2013 4x4 1500 GMC Denali was $49k msrp.  A 2024 version of the same truck is $69k.

I'm looking for a new 2 seat under 2000lb car with 350-400 HP Subie, 13.5' long max. I like the Revo style  but would need some modifications. Simple as that. I have no problem with a new Weddle HV25 either.

Yeah dude !. But that 10 more mpg would pay for your ignorance eventually.

K&R, Your a site sponsor ?. What's your product, what do you sell ?. If not anything related to this topic I suggest you move on.

Yikes

I owned a revo with supercharged eco. It was fun for a minute. nothing compared to big V8 car. I think @tjZ06 hit it on the head. There is a V6 car for sale back east that caught my eye for a back up wife car. The revo market is not great. it is small and nimble and I liked that but it needed more power it got hot in the heat so I had to pull the windshield. Honestly the pro r is a better machine if i was to compare apples to apples. TBH
I perfectly aware of the difference between a sxs and a big V8 car. Seems to me there might still be a market for something in-between. Maybe not since the speed car has been a disaster. I wonder if I could buy a speed 2 seat chassis less all electronics and motor and trans.

And the 4wd stuff. Sand baby !.

Hard to call it a monopoly when there are literally (3) different 5-speed transaxles from (3) different manufactures to choose from.

An Albins 10" 5-speed sequential is $33k. https://weddleindustries.com/products/AGB10-SS5-TRANS/AGB10-SS5-TRANS

A Fortin 10" 5-speed sequential is "Call for Pricing". Last I heard, they were north of $35k as well. https://www.fortinracing.com/product/frs5-sequential/

Both of these are equivalent to the 10" S5 transaxle priced at $17,500. https://weddleindustries.com/products/S5-TRANS/S5-TRANS

A S4/S5 R&P is about 1/2 the price of the Albins and Fortin R&P sets when it's time to replace.

I have a PBS with a split main case to convert to a Weddle S5 on my bench now, I'll head back downstairs and get to work.

Nice !. Your busy. Is why I sold my car with a PBS LT car after 8 seasons. You and your competition price ranges are all I need to see. You all have priced yourselves out of the common folk market. Congratulations. Hello sxs stuff.

@dunenigma you asked for opinions and you have slammed every one’s opinion plus the manufacturer’s of parts needed to build a car you say you’re looking for maybe you should follow your own advice and move on

I have moved on. I never "slammed" anyone or their business. It's called doing your homework. Did I question others and their prices ? Effin A. Is what I do, especially when I'm thinking about an "out of the box build".

So years ago I saw a 2 seat Funco with a Tsubie out at the Ceiling in Glamis. It was a cool car and I wonder what happened to those cars ?.

Not that style. The one I remember had a radius roof, and probably a mid travel.

I know exactly what car you're talking about. I just can't remember the name of it. If I remember correctly they only made a handful of those. You hardly ever saw them.
