have a j32 a2 motor in a street - offroad manx  runs great ease into throttle no problems will go through gears to 6 k no problem .. so if your crusing 2nd  or 3rd  gear medium throttle and STAB  PEDAL it falls on its face loud bobble sound friend said sounds like detanation to him .. just put pressure reg on set at 50 psi put new tps  .. has alot of codes but normal kind of stuff tcm egr  thats not beening used stuff ,,,it did have knock sensor code missfire .... any help on what i can check i am a mecanic just dont know the hondas yet thanks anthony

Son's 3.5a4 was doing something similar. Found the crank sensor wire plug was the issue. Down by your vtech control there are 2 wire plugs. one is for the vtech and the other is for crank sensor. Wiggle the wire, motor may stop, if not run again and see if any change. If it stops, you know your on the right track.

What codes?

A funky (or no ) MAP signal will do what you're describing.  It will let you slowly rev it to redline, but if you stab it it will just kinda PUH..and nothing.

Can you pull the codes?
yes lots knock sensor this one p1607 pcm failure  going to try friends ecu saturday ,,,egr code had some misfires iv been scanning it runs great just dont stab throttle  tranny code another thing i forgot  going up long hill on the gas let of and try to go back in  it just goes flat no accell thanks for any help

if you are in so cal, I have a spare ECU you can have. Its just sitting after I switched over to AEM.

I had this happen with my plug gap being to wide.  It would blow out the spark.  This was a turbo motor, but I would still check it.  It is easy to check for sure.

A list of the codes you have would be VERY helpful....   ALL of them.

Any Updates?
i put  in a friends ecm and no better it runs great just dont stick your foot in it  to fast .. its a street leg. manx so driving in 4th up a hill let off and then back on its just flat  i think its a mixture issue ..the cage was made so close to coil packs you have to remove it to pull a spark plug at least i could see if there  black or white .. im going to cut cage n put flanges this weekend ..any help id appreciate it thanks

Try to pull all the codes and list them on here.

I have been helping Anthony over the phone and wired this car to the ECM. I'm almost out of ideas and suggested we try the Honda Guru's on GD! this car had a untouched (by us) OEM engine harness that does not appear to have been modified, the manifold is not flipped so none of the throttle body wires were extended.

Here is what we know...

Runs fine under 1/3~1/2 throttle, V-tec kicks in sounds great.... but anymore throttle it falls on its face and does not gain RPM and almost sounds like really bad detonation right before it starts to bog out. ill try upload that running video you sent me, that may help. at the end you hear it fall flat.

replaced TPS, replaced MAP, blocked OEM fuel regulator and installed adjustable regulator set around 50psi, replaced fuel filter, tried a known working ECM, checked knock sensor, checked sensor shielding grounds are hooked up to ECM

After you check all the plugs and coils,  I think the next step would be checking resistance in the MAP and TPS wires from ECM to sensors. if no issue's there run a fuel pressure gauge to the dash just to make sure the PSI not falling off when it starts to bog out. maybe check the crank sensor too like suggested above.  and send a list of codes!

if it is detonating, could it be pulling all of the timing out of it?  can you hook a scan tool to it & see what its doing with fuel & timing?

seems like a couple of pulls on a dyno with AFR & scan tool/computer hooked up would tell the story.  the rest is guessing.

I quoted a post above yours. Give him the info he says, he'll get you up and running.

At first it sounded like it was going lean but then it sounds like the electrical is breaking up. Nothing worse than electrical issue. Good luck

Yes I’m leaning towards a dyno  plugs look dark on ring on lf side and lean on rt
