1995 ford 7.3 f350 Who works on those?

No start with the ICP off and not using oil.....Stumper for sure... thinking maybe IDM..... bad IPR..... Need a scanner for sure.
I would start thinking idm or hpop failure. Is your ebp valve in closed position by chance? The pcm takes input from ebp, ipr, icp, and cps sensors on startup, as well as fuel bowl heater for some reason (check that fuse #22 not blown) Low voltage on any one sensor and injectors wont fire. Truck needs oil pressure and fuel pressure to run. Did you check for 60psi cranking fuel pressure? Just because there is fuel in the bowl doesnt mean there is enough psi to fire

I'm in Norco and have a handheld scanner you can use
Thanks... I'm sending it to Domestic in chino tomorrow....they are fair and honest. I'm over it at this point.  I checked all the normal stuff...  thanks for the help...

I would send it to C&S long before I ever gave anymore money to John at Domestic... that dude is the king of upsell and clean out your account

Well Update #1.... shop called.... the put the scanner to her, she had a CPS sensor code stored.....I had replaced it with the new "C" model  cps, so they cleared that code and cranked her and she started..... and kept starting...and won't die on them.???????? Good and bad I guess.....

Do any of you know if a stored CPS code would have kept it from starting???

They are going to keep it for a few and drive it and see if they can get it to die.... Just friggen weird....

Huh, not too sure. Never heard of that. I’ve  never had a CEL with a cps issue. Infact my ‘97 NEVER threw a code ever. even with fuel pump failure. Glad it was something simple.

Yep, I haven't seen that anywhere either. The shop even sounded surprised by the truck starting.... We shall see I guess.

She started taking longer to start....then yesterday she started , ran about 5 seconds, then died, then 20 seconds, then 10, then she fired up with some throttle....ran ok  drove her down the block then into the driveway....idled for a minute or two, then died, now no start...

turns over tach works,  fuel bowl is full, changed cps....pulled chip,

Anybody in the  Norco  IE area work on these still?   145k miles,  HPOP is an adreneline pump, IPR has like 20k miles on it. new harness under fuel bowl.    Who's the expert?
Domestic Diesel!  John is good people and staff is great.

Well, it started actiing up for them and they said the IPR is acting up... so 1200 and we'll see where it goes...

back then they did have problems with the fuel pick up in the tank there is 2 small filters in the pickup also they had lining in the tank that would deteriorate. The filter is  not available from ford but the are available international 4300 series with a vt365 the filter screen that is located near the power steering pump. you can pull the plug out of your canister fuel filter up top and put a fuel pressure gauge with a long line and watch the fuel pressure while your driving  think its supposed to be around 60psi. normally if the filters get clogged it will start and run and will start to loose power progressively getting worse until it stalls and you will see the fuel pressure dropping off if you wait a while some of the dirt falls away from the filter and it will run again. the cam sensors were a big problem but the tach will not work with a bad cam sensor. i've also seen the fuel heater in the fuel filter go bad and steal power from the fuel pump on the frame usually blows the fuse    btw not all trucks had the pickup in the tank im thinking of but if you look the part image up you be able to tell if it the one with screens

Ipr is like 270$ with pigtail

….i’ve noticed they can be fine cold and problematic at operating temperature.   But you may be looking at an idm issue if ipr doesnt fix it

when i had the code on my 96 the cps went out, put in a new one and it fired right up, code still in for months until I remembered to clear it.

if they touched the cps at all it may have a chafed wire on the harness

The Harness is new... so with the full scan time and the IPR and replacement we are there... he wanted to do the fuel lines too , but I replaced them when I got the truck so they have like 40k miles on em....He's gonna look at them and see what they look like.

I think they were real live scanning it because he said they saw the IPR problem when it started acting up... so hopefully...she's good for another 150k.

If the CPS is working it will run even if there's a code for it. The thing is with those fuel systems is they're kinda stand alone systems and there's a lot of things that can go wrong that won't trigger the engine light.

I had an exhaust back pressure sensor do something similar to what you described on my 97. The sensor was fine but the tube going from the exhaust to the sensor was plugged. I just half ass cleaned it out and it never gave another problem. I did get a code for it though.

i went with the strictly diesel full race fuel set up, man what a nice kit, pricey but it was really easy to do and had every part you need.

Well, that dreaded call...well the IPR wasn't the problem.... so it died, they swapped out a pcm and it runs..... put the old pcm back in and dead again...so now it's pcm time.

pcm is on the driver side kick panel and are prone to water intrusion from the windshield, so when you get the new pcm you might have your windshield gasket replaced also.
