1967 Dodge A-100 Hot rod sort of rat rod build thread.

1980 Oklahoma plate that was on the truck. Been dreaming about where to put it and I might put it right here.

I did not like the angle of the front interlocking ends so I ordered new ones and welded them in. Did not want this section binding up when I try to get it out. It was tricky welding around that and I used a home Depot bucket as a steady rest. LOL

I was wondering about that.  you had 2 going one way & 2 going another way.  I know when I took the rear cage out of my buggy the first/last tube to get diss/connected was a PITB!!!  stuff gets put under tension after a while...

 
Guys in the shop are telling me don't make it too perfect. So I think I'm going to leave it. A few little inconsistencies on a rusty old beater.

 
I wonder how that COE reacts when he has his foot into it & one shifts into 3rd & the other is still enjoying 2nd? or the other way around when he stomps into it & one downshifts & the other takes its time.  cool to look @ though.

Probably has manual VBs.

 
Came out really good and I saved some old parts laying around. I can put some rubber weather strip under the edge of the shroud and it will seal all the way around. Now I will have to make brackets to bolt it down to whatever frame is on the truck. I would like it to mount on rubber and have some dampening. Too bad we are hiding some of those pretty welds.

Well either Mark cut this piece of trim out of some hard steel or the plasma cutter and heat hardened the metal around each hole when it cut it. My drill bit is about .010 bigger than the holes. Although they really aren't perfectly round with the plasma cutter. Alex I will take the latter for $500. 51 bolts around that frame. I will use some Allen bolts once I paint it and it all goes together.

By the way the back of that cab is some pretty thick steel. Don't build them like that anymore. I used a big pry bar to push on the drill to drill all those holes out.
