GLAMIS WEATHER
You need one of these, apparently. 🤣

Saved me a few times out at Calavaras Lake in High School.

Your supposed to have 100 ducks on your dash so when you start to roll they fall out your window and cushion your fall.

I can’t believe people think those stupid ass ducks are a Jeep thing that is total BS
They're a Samurai thing now...

Mainly because I bought 100 of them and covered a friend's with them... :ROFLMAO:

Ah, that's what I did wrong.

Should pass the 50/50 rule (looks okay as it drives by at 50’/50mph)

Storage to be mounted to the ā€œwindowā€ (1/8ā€ cold rolled MS, stitch welded to the window frame) on the inside. Need to color sand everything so it least its sorta shiny and shows off my shitty metal repair. :ROFLMAO:

The original exhaust I made for this thing I wrapped in header wrap. Every time I worked on ANYTHING near that damned exhaust, it was fiberglass in my eyes. Nope. Was also getting some leaks from the ā€œgasketlessā€ headers Sanderson makes for this. Ripped it all out and started over. Switched it over to 3ā€ exhaust and cat while I was in there.

Switched the headers over to donut style gaskets. Perfect.

Biggest job after that was heat-wrapping everything. There are a number of items I don’t want getting scorched by the exhaust, so time for another solution:

Bought this shit, but no way I was using those shitty metal zip ties. This is what I came up with:

First things first: tack weld 1/4-20 bolts to the exhaust. Added a washer under the wrap, molded it into place, then smacked the bolts with a hammer to mark them.

Drilled holes, then formed it onto the stud by hammering a washer down with a socket

Forgot to take pictures of the finished product, but you get the idea. Looks way better than header wrap, and seems to be holding the heat in. I’ll report back after I climb the grade near me to see if shit melts.

Final product. There is a VERY noticeable difference in temps of objects near the exhaust where there is wrapping and not. Put your hand on the ā€œframeā€ next to the wrapped exhaust, cool to the touch. Next to unwrapped exhaust, barely bearable to touch.
