So that transmission is actually that big of a deal to pass on this one?

I say yes. My last dodge was a 2500 with the 68rfe and failed at 80k motor is great. The Aisin is a game changer. Shifts very smooth and the power is awesome. Gets about 16.5 mpg out on the highway.

That’s what I keep hearing.. 80k and kaboom

Something else nobody is talking about on the Rams is you need to flush the coolant at 30,000 miles. Reason being is the heater core will take a shit. And if that happens absolutely everything has to come out of the front of the cab to replace it. Buddy of mine is replacing the heater core on a 2021 gas 2500 because the way the heater core sits in the unit the bottom fills up with sentiment and it won’t heat up the drivers side or defrost the windshield. Your mileage may vary.

I have never heard of this. Interesting

I have a 2018 ram 3500 Megacab single rear wheel with aisin and have zero trans issues at 50lk miles. But my gears are 3:42. I hit 17.5mpg empty last week on a long trip. I see 8-12mpg towing doubles.

The aisin is 10x better than my old 48rfe trucks. And do t forget the exhaust brake is awesome
