Which CV grease to use?

Cat Desert Gold (now Cat Extreme Application- Desert) for years. I tear them down every season and they seem to always look great. Less than $5/tube, slightly over 1 tube per side.

I am about to tear my CVs apart in 2 weeks after running 500 miles on Parker's Podium grease. I will post results!
We just tore apart the CVs on the class 1 car after running approximately 250 baja miles, 400 dune miles, and 400 US dirt miles. I am very impressed with the Gear one super boots and podium grease. My prep guy called me surprised how good the grease looked. This is the first time I have been able to run this many miles on a CV prep without having boot or CV issues. Anyone on the fence about what to run, go to GearOne and don't look back! @parker@gearone

Oh yes, thanks for reminding me about my favorite thread once again. I will be switching to a mixture of Vaseline and KY Jelly for the back half of the season. Will post results after prerunning the Glamis 1000
I prefer a mixture of peanut butter, smooth, not chunky, and grape jelly. That way I can mop up the excess with a piece of wonder bread and eat it.

Appreciate the kind words @Reece Pettersen , we know you're not easy on your car. I am very happy to see it held up well for you! Get that car back together, looks like I will be at BAP for contingency, see you there.

I need to tear mine apart. I did the exact same amount of miles in the exact locations as Reece. I ran 50/50 belray swepco. So that would be about as even of a match as you could possibly get. If anything Reece ran harder than I did. So i'll check mine and report back.
@parker@gearone I'll be switching to your grease for my next prep

Swepco and Bel-Ray are still a great setup. The biggest difference compared to Podium Lubricants is in the thickener—Podium uses a synthetic thickener, while Swepco and Bel-Ray use an organic clay-based thickener.

We’ve also noticed that clay-based thickeners have a higher probability of separating from the base oil compared to a synthetic thickener. This becomes especially noticeable under high load and centrifugal force conditions.

@acefuture and @Reece Pettersen do you guys add grease during those miles you stated?

I put 1000-1200 duning miles on a season, but I add grease every other trip and I run Parker's CV savers.

Curious to know if you guys add or are your results from just running and not doing anything?

No, I never pulled the rubber boots off. I am against adding grease because you can over grease which will likely fill up in the boot and create boot failure.

Same as Reece. I'm one and done for the season. I had to replace 2 CVs last season, so we'll see how my prep was this season. I think I have my limits strapped a little too long.
