When will GMC/Chevy catch up with the times?

The new norm. I wont even pay MSRP on these overpriced new cars. Complete joke....

The Dealers found a way to create their own demand and will gouge customers. Well, until the economy tanks and want another bail out.
When supply is there and the demand for new cars drops the pricing will come down.   Car dealers are doing what the powersports dealers have been doing for every - dealer mark ups.

I am not sure this will happen.  All this crazy car pricing is because of shortage issues.  Over the next year the supply chain issues should be much better.
My hypothesis is based on a major recession happening and wages not keeping up with inflation. If that doesn't happen it would be more of a 'soft landing' and prices would just 'normalize' as you've stated.

Things can't continue the way they're going.. highest inflation in 40 years.. Fed will have to keep jacking rates, housing might take a dump, etc. Time will tell, but for me I'm lucky I can wait to get another vehicle. Not going to play this stupid game. Had an east coast Hyundai dealer try to sell me a new car for $10k+OVER MSRP. .. yeah.. good luck with that.. if it doesn't have 4/5 point harnesses, ABC isn't going to overpay (right now)..  :makerain:

The deals are out there and cash helps.  I picked up a 'used' 2021 Silverado LT 3500HD L5P 10 speed dually about a month ago from a dealership.  Would have preferred the LTZ+ but couldn't find one.  We've been hauling more and more 5th wheels and stackers so we had to get a truck before we get really busy in October.  This truck had 3500 miles on it and the factory plastic on the back seats, floors, etc.  So far so good, should have 11k miles on the odometer when my son gets back from Utah tomorrow.  He said the driver's info center said oil change and tire rotation due.  If I can find a LTZ+ with the features we want I'll try to make a deal and trade this one in.

Hey man don't you like it being a 6 seater with that 60/40 seat? I have the LT and prefer it because it doesn't have all the electronics of a Denali or LTZ.

Nice truck. Looks like you have a young driver. My 16 year old will be driving soon. Not sure if Dad will let her drive the dually, but she'll need to master the Suburban .. you know yanking out Fords in G and all...

That's my 16 yr old daughter in the pic, she drove me to the dealership. The truck is for my 19 yr old son who took over the transport side of my business when he graduated high school a year ago.

This particular LT has cloth, which we wanted, but non power seats which is weird. It only has one camera whereas the LTZ+ has that new 360° view and most important a camera in the bed which will help hooking up 5th wheels. The center console is awkward being a 6 seater. It's a work truck and we are a family of 3 so no need for 6 seats. Would be nice to have the 120v invertor from the factory with a plug in the dash and the bed.

We really like this truck but we don't love it. Hopefully I can find the exact one we want soon. I have a client that says he can get me a 2022 GMC SLR (or whatever their version of the LTZ+ is) but if I do order one it wouldn't be available until November.  I've never owned a GMC. I've had 6 white Chevy Silverado's, the last 4 being Duramax's. Not sure I could deal with the giant GMC on the grill.

We picked up a 2022 Yukon Denali earlier this year and honestly I prefer it over the Chevy. We have always been a Chevy family until we bought this.

Next time you are at my house you have to check it out. The interior is the same as the 3500 Denali's.

I agree on the camera and finally got off my butt and had a new head unit installed in my Dually. I hooked up my fifth wheel yesterday and use the tennis ball on the telescope deal. I camera would be necessary if I was to hook up as often as you and your son do. I did get a reverse camera for the hitch, but I don't usually tow the box with the beast.

Yeah, same deal with mine, cloth, manual seates, etc.

Would love to gloat about how amazing my F350 Platinum is but it's been at the dealer for a month....Went in due to low power and engine light on. Tech said EGR valve was bad. Picked it up and 3 miles later, engine light comes back on and low power.  Take it in AGAIN and tech says EGR valve is bad.  I say 'the one you f'n fixed 2 days ago?  Um, no we did not actually fix it, just re-set check engine light and sent you on your way......  Tech then proceeds to break two bolts off in the exhaust manifold.  It gets better, new exhaust manifold is a week out to get one.   I love my new ford.........

Hearing chit like this makes me feel that much better about my gasser. So much less to go wrong.

I just bought all the external lights for my '03 Chevy 2500HD 6.0 Gasser...Stop, Amber, all of them....going LED so I can feel like a Truck from at least the last 2 years...LOL.

So far the ones we replaced are a big difference in brightness, back up lights are awesome now. Backing up was sketchy before!

Sounds like you have a service advisor issue, an egr valve is a simple repair as long as the advisor had budgeted enough time with you to actually have the tech make the repairs. I guarantee this was a rushed job, not that you rushed them, but something the advisor dropped the ball on and didn't follow your truck through the shop to make sure the repair was going as planned. Thats a service advisors job first and foremost.

Yes parts are currently hard to get, and the time in service can be weeks and months, that's across the board with Ford, GM and Ram. Don't hate your Ford because you had an inexperienced service advisor handle your concern. Trust me it was 100% the service advisors deal for the tech to just clear the DTC and return the truck to you without repair verification. There's reasons why advisors make these decisions which are beyond the scope of this thread. I'm 35 years into my dealership tech career I've seen a thing or two.

Think you hate your Ford? How do you think this GMC truck owner felt when he found out we had to replace the crankshaft on his brand new Duramax? I'm not knocking the Dmax but rather demonstrating that everything breaks down at some point.

I love my F250 I wouldn't trade that bitch for anything. Just sayin...
