This is a question to all you non retired 8-5ers.   What is your employer doing for you or not doing as far as day off, vacation day etc for Monday the 3rd?

I've got guys asking for Monday (3rd) off and a few asking for Wednesday (5th) off.   Both make sense to me but I cant seem to find the answer.  Most of the shipyards we work in/out of are taking Monday and Tuesday off.

Just Tuesday paid.  I'm letting those that can work from home Monday.

4th is a Holiday, 3rd is normal workday  :usa:

We just had this exact conversation and everyone is pissed off. Like I somehow am in charge of making the 4th a Tuesday.

So here we are not half way thru the year and the only person who has any PTO is me, again somehow my fault.   If they don't work Monday and Wednesday they don't get paid for Tuesday, again my fault.  They are going to have two Mondays next week, my fault, They don't get to stay out till 11pm watching fireworks drinking beer because you guessed it my fault.

I need to hire Chummin

I am guessing that Monday and Wednesday I will have less than a full crew. I figure the new guy's who do not get paid for the holiday will definitely take advantage of not having to work the before and after

Only off Tuesday.

My family is in CA and my neighbors headed out of town so I'll be home alone.  I may ride my bike over the river to view the fireworks.  If not, drive to the lake.

Paid time off for the 3rd and 4th........working on the 4th.

We get tuesday paid, but it'll cost me at least 2 hrs of OT that day......we are slaves and just don't know it yet.....

Holiday = tourist and more Jet-A to burn all weekend and next week.

Company gave us the 4th Tuesdsy and the 5th Wednesday off.  We made our plans to go to Huntington the back half of the week.  Then about a month ago said they meant Monday and Tuesday off. I just told my boss that I'll be working Monday and taking the off day on Wednesday.

We have just Tuesday the 4th Off.. If we don't come to work on Monday the 3rd or Wed the 5th we dont get paid for Tuesday

I need to hire Chummin
Pfff.  He permanently "works" from home and takes a sebatical every year.

I'm partying with family Saturday, getting my 4th on.  Gotta work Sunday - Wednesday.  But time and-a half on Tuesday plus 8hrs comp time.

Tuesday only - not complaining, we get a ridiculous amount of Holidays...note the 4 global holidays - they added those during Covid...April is the only month we don't get a day off.
