Last week, I talked with one of my old Middle school friends and son of a past neighbor (his Dad has Cancer, I was following up on that) who I sold my 2003 Baja Toy Hauler to and was sent pics of what it looks like now.

I sold it in 2016 back when I was starting Canndescent and didn't have a lot of time for weekend Glamis trips and ultimately didn't really need it anymore.

Before I sold it, I did the following:

- Completely sanded and repainted the entire frame
- Bought and installed new door Springs
- Recaulked all seams and roof areas
- New tires
- Reworked and reupholstered the rear bunk ladder mount
- New rear vent Cover that someone lost and never offered to replace, after borrowing the trailer
- Polished all wheels and Diamond plate areas
- Detailed the entire rig (I miss the hell out of only having to wash 16' of trailer)
- New batteries
- Some other crap I can't remember

Turns out he goes to Ocotillo a lot and was caught in a wind storm. Unfortunately, it ripped a lot of the siding off on one of his trips home. I hope he can get it repaired for a reasonable cost as it's a great trailer and works very well for a Single Guy.

Overall, just super stoked to see it being used and appreciated. Bummed that he has the issue he does, however.

you bring this up at an crazy time.
couple weeks ago, guy at work calls me, my girlfriends aunt died and has a couple cars for sale. want to look at them.. sure..
97 firebird 1 owner (just a v6) convertible, 63k miles, been in garage and not tagged since 16, he bought it new. I buy it.
has a 18-19 continental that I flip to a friend.
he takes me on a tour of the house. her husband had died a year or so back, she just passed.
NOONE wanted anything, they got a huge roll off, filled it up, sold the 2500sf house to the neighbor for 200k with all the contents, from the china and cabinet, to thewasher dryer, mickey mouse phone and bbq gas grill, clothes, books, christmas junk and all as is. prob a min 450k house..........AND they put a new roof on it, because the man filed a claim 4 years ago, and never had it replaced, so the claim was made, and they found out when they called to cancel the insurance, the agent told them it was an open case. WILD.

They didn't want to bother with selling the furniture, or anything.

I sat there and thought, man..............Is this where my stuff will end up. I'll be gone and noone gives a damn about anything..........nothing.
really made me sad for the couple. I feel like I got some good junk lol.
they did tear through everything in the house to make sure no money was hidden in drawers, papers etc.

That's our parents and possibly our generations.

I've seen it myself, it's sad. That's somebody's life right there.

Just saw this at an estate sale in riverside... guys whole life, had a pretty impressive collection of stuff. Sad that nobody cared or wanted it....

Wait the siding just came off from the wind?
Yup.

That area of Ocotillo gives you either really strong head winds or something ferocious from the north, if you get caught in it when it hits on the way home to North County.

With aluminum sided trailers, you really need to pay attention to that leading edge seal and make sure there are no air gaps for any wind to grab onto. I made sure to let him know about this but I can tell from the pics that he didn't do any maintenance to any of the seals since he bought it from me.

I'm currently going through some of this now with my Mom and myself.

I have a lot of shit. Hence, my Screen name (had 16 ATV's at one point!). I have sold off and tossed a lot of stuff in an effort to alleviate the burden on my Woman, Daughter and remaining family if anything happens to me. Tools, Car Audio equipment, Detailing crap, Off road toys and associated junk... it's crazy what just one person can accumulate.

I have spent the last 3 years going through my storage unit, bins and I toss things up on Offer Up, weekly. I just recently sold a junk ATC 70 frame that was left at my other house and an old Detailing water tank on Offer Up for over $100... literally made money on those pieces of trash. So, now I make a weekly effort to purge something, from somewhere and get it out of our lives.

My dad is in his late 60s and still runs around like a crazy person. Because of this, he has enough energy to think he still needs stuff, or rather he can still WANT stuff with a plan in mind. Never really works out, but he does have a lot. An enclosed trailer packed with things, most of them good, but also some crap that is worthless to anyone but him. It would take a week to sort through it all and pull out anything that I would care for if anything were to happen to him. He has done a pretty good job at keeping the GOOD stuff all in one place, though, and I have recently found out that the combo has finally been shared with his brother. Thank goodness for that because hardly anything in there is registered.... Enough on that!

There are some things that are sentimental and some that aren't. I had to clean out my Dad's house, after family had lived in it for 70 years (Grandparents to my Parents).

I kept all the pics, fishing gear, guns and one Motorcycle. My sister and Brother kept other things. But china (not really worth much anymore) and old furniture that was 25 years, nobody wanted.

Here is the Motorcycle, two pics, the day it came home brand new with me standing next to it, and yesterday. Same exact bike, never left the family. Every new kid that came to out camp learned to ride on this bike.Honda Z50.jpgHonda Z50.jpghonda z50 new.jpg

My Stock '85 ATC250R was same, young, stupid and sold for $800 or $900 I forget...was getting married and broke asfk.

Mine was sold during a period of time where I was "starting over" 12 years ago and needed a break from everything I had going on. My entire 40' x 15' garage was full of stuff I didn't EVER use and shit was just in the way:

1985 ATC 250R (sold)
1985 ATC 70 (sold)
1983 ATC 70 Christmas Edition (gave it back to my brother)
1979 ATC 110 (still have)
1974 ATC 90 (sold to a 90 Restorer - Youtube Guy)
2003 CRF 50 (sold, still can't remember to who)
2013 RZR XP4 (sold)
1993 Integra (sold and totaled soon after selling)

Not in garage but sold:

2004 Blaze'n Toy hauler (gave back to the bitch that stole my half of it)
2003 Baja Toy Hauler
1989 4Runner (wish I never would have let it go)
12' Flatbed trailer
