Might be a dumb question but I'll ask anyway. Was SU the first builder of this style and a lot of others copied them? The design of the DD, BFD and others from the mid 2000s appear very similar. I love them all just curious.

That's hard to say exactly who was the first...SU did take it up to a new level production wise when John B. bought it from Larry. By mid 2000 s they were making bad ass cars ,and a lot of them. SCU was doing crazy cool stuff as well ( on much smaller scale)Along with many new builders.  There were a lot of guys jumping into that market.
