Summer upgrades that got a little out hand...1.5 year upgrade

So after the engine was reassembled I began the process of of putting the intake and exhaust back together.

Before the turbo went to its final home I went ahead and match ported the T6 exhaust housing to match and have a smoother flow with the divided flange.

Starting to get the dyno day. Here I was cleaning up the Holley harness and moving plugs around to match my backward intake. Very tedious, after this the car went to my buddies where he completed the cars wiring…good enough to run we still need to go clean it up.

Dyno days are super freaking stressful.

We got the electrical "completed" it was done enough to get it tuned. this was about a week before Christmas the goal was to be ready for New Years.

The first pull I had all of the holes plugged on the top of the wastegate...bonehead move which could be the reason for the 1000 + Ibft of torque....oopsy.  :classic_blink:

Made 630hp to the ground on 7 psi through my 35" desert tires. It kept spinning the tires. But damn does it sound good!!!

After a crap ton of work, a lot of late nights, some blood and tears we finally made it to its first glamis trip...One of the videos is climbing comp hill and the other is just some little side shoot. But getting to hear that 5" tail pipe and the wastegates screaming made it all worth it...while driving its almost needing ear plugs loud, even with a helmet.

There is a lot to finish its held together with zip ties and electrical tape.

Super rad. Really nice work man, I’ve enjoyed this thread.

Hope to see you out there soon. It’s funny how many cars I recognize from this site out in the dunes, maybe we will cross paths.

Thank you. I’m sure I’ll keep updating it as a button up my quick and dirty to get it out there

Hopefully I’m not on a tow rope if you see the car lol

A crap ton of fuel later roughly a 120 gallons. What do you guys use for fuel cans…I need to get some drums or something

55g drums and a pump, here’s one that’s ethanol compatible:

That being said, couple of guys in camp just use the tractor supply gasoline pumps, surviving so far…
Ended up using all of our E85 and had to drive into el centro. 3 days of of 2 really good days of riding was about 160 gallons between two cars.

A drum might be needed before idaho.

Fun trip with only one little issue boost gauge quit working…still made boost though.

Olds is rough as hell going up it. I just don’t see the sense of beating on the car going up so I tend to old school roll through the whoops.

I remember buying this pc1200 battery at Kartek and spending roughly $240 and now it’s it’s $360 what the hell changed. Ordered one off of jegs and it was $316

Hopefully I don’t need two of them this thing is a little taxing on the batteries now.

The car sounds great, and looks like a ton of fun. All that hard work was worth it I see. 👍🏽

It’s been a blast getting to drive it. Seeing people’s reaction to that single s480 turbo brings me a good smile lol

Friday was a nice day up in Phelan so ended up taking the car out for a little rip…this thing rides like a fork lift in the desert at low speeds.

It’s a handful when it comes on boost with the 35s. Might need a little more tire for traction. Been looking at 37s but want them to be as light as possible
