Yea like not let the people have guns, wait a minute it all ready is like that.........dont seem to be workingThey should enact some common-sense gun control.
Or till your wife is raped while they hold your child at gun point and force you to watch.I get it until you and/or your family are kill.t
I'm all for badasses...I've been known to do my own share of "stupid" chit but I'm mature enough to draw a line in the sand.
Glad all went well for your wife and you. Be safe.I'm about as Hispanic as I can get. I have no business in Mexico and have no desire to be there. Even after constant invitations, I'll pass. My wife has had 2 cousins killed and 1 bro in law's brother. Just this past week, head of security for the Mayor of TJ was killed in downtown TJ in the morning. My wife was heading there on a major meeting that morning that was going to address a lot of issues between San Diego and TJ, canceled immediately. Just as you thought you had gained some ground on making it better for the two bordering communities, you are reminded that their government isn't in control there. Here is my wife's texts that morning...

Just got back from my 1st trip to cancun. We stayed in the hotel zone. I felt very secure and walked to the OXXO for bfast every morning. Went on a couple excursions. On the beach and in the resort was constant security including police walking driving the beach. We canceled our trip to Cancun, not worth the saving of money to be on the beach where so many random killings happen...
Hahaha that’s funny you have no idea what you’re talking about.Baja is fine and the racing will continue. Lots of teams down there now prerunning the Baja 500 scheduled in two weeks.

Oooooooof!Or till your wife is raped while they hold your child at gun point and force you to watch.
We still wanted beach and Jungle, Did Maui instead, drove over 500 miles on the island seen about everything on Maui, have been to Cancun a couple of times, all and all felt safer in Hawaii and felt the food was way better than anything we have had in Mexico. The diving was better in Cancun and the water was warmer, but in Maui i did not feel like i had to watch my back at all, we spent very little time at the resort in Maui, mostly in the jungle or little villages eating with the locals on the beach.Just got back from my 1st trip to cancun. I will say gringos were the minority. Somewhat disappointed with the lack of English speaking front desk people. Luckily I speak enough Spanish to get but I just don't understand it as well as I used too.
We went to cabo last year. Felt more American there. But maybe ust the spots we were at.
We do rocky point a couple times a year.
From reading about this event is was cartel rivals gunning each other down.
A case of mistaken identity did happen earlier this year along the Texas border but the cartel self corrected and turned those 3 clowns over.
All in all, don't go with stupid people and you will be fine. If you don't feel safe then stay state side. But I'd talk to a feel people versus watching the news/Instagram before making a decision.

PS. I do want to tag along on a baja ride some year as I have no idea where to start.. and I want to try taco al pastor or carmellos.
I went to high school with a kid whos dad was a high up official in mexico. He had two body guards that followed him everywhereOooooooof!
Skip me!
I own a 3-story, 5/5 mansion, ¼ m from the beach in Mazatlan…Lomas for those who know. Neighbors are “artists” and “businessmen’, but I havent been there in 5 years out of fear. . I just rent it out.
….and my family are legit corporate business owners, politicians, and physicians.
the risk isn’t worth it. A DA uncle was murdered outside his house (3 from mine) and 4 guys ‘volunteered’ to take the rap. F all that!
I lived the life you post about. I know you love your boys and family….Good thing there were zero murders in the USA last week. This thread smells like vagina.
For those that want to the smell to linger longer. This thread smells like vagina.
Not even close, My Best friend Milton went to Cancun with his whole family in September of last year, his dad got Covid, they put him in a separate room in the Hotel, he got a little worse, when they picked him up with a Ambulance, and got him to the hospital they would not take him out of the Ambulance until Brad paid $4000 us, Then they wanted $10,000 to check him into the hospital, Then they told him they wanted another $10,000 and when they refused the put him on medication that made his O2 level go down. He called Life flight out of Texas and they told him to get his family out of the Country. They came by Helicopter with a PA and two armed guards, and a armed escort. They tried to keep Brad Father and they pulled him out of the hospital with armed us guards.Cabo is 100x safer than the US. I would not say that about any other city in MX. Not one tourist ever killed there by cartel. The amount of wealthy $400m+ people walking around downtown is ridiculous. No one has security (maybe bezos, etc). Regarding the race; it was a hit on the guy in the black/neon green can am. He was warned to stay out of that area. Idk how many of the group were collateral damage or associated with him. All of my employees are from MX and they get 'different' info than we get.....
