Quad vs SXS

Those 6 broken ribs a few years ago cured my quad attitude. The recovery was long and painful in my 50s plus the wife getting pretty angry with me.
Like @ChEFF I’m not sure I like driving the SXS in the dunes. Can’t stand up and look is big.
Today the dunes are just different. I’ll still go to spend time with friends etc.  but they are no longer my favorite place  😞

I’ve been spending more time in the open desert like Ocotillo and really enjoying that.

I'm excited to see that part of the Desert some day @Chummin Get to know the place and we'll join ya. Six (6) broken Ribs suck. I remember that well myself. Said I'd never do that again. Have yet to be back on a MX Track. But............there's just something about ripping dunes! Can't put a finger on it so I thought I'd apply four wheels. @MWB said it right....................where do you put the quad wheels with these SXS ruts? Blow W Blow! Sweep On Darling! Peace

Go Rip that Beauty.. Breathe and sling some sand. That quad will Never see Hardpack so Rip the dunes fast like Cheff does and return to camp with big smiles knowing the line you will take leading the group of SXS's.

If you think you are as fast on a bike at 60 as you were at 20 than that just means you were really slow when you were young. 😂 :peace:

Like @ChEFF   😞
The quad wasn't the problem there.....

I like your style @ChEFF but question, any reason you didn't go Raptor 700R this time around? I find the 450 to have tighter suspension and can be rough in the chop. Sure it can be addressed but that 700R low torque is quite nice too.

Well well.. It looks like I have another quad rider in camp.

I see Sharon riding with Stacey in the SxS and we get to rip our 4 wheelers.

Great question @Chingon619 I've owned both of them. The 700 was a great quad to ride. Great power. 3rd gear and it pulled everywhere. The turning ratio was more difficult than the sporty 450. When I rode the 700, I had to lead. When I had the 450 my brother @sndsamplr would lead. He makes quick reactions at a high rate of speed. The 700 was very heavy to turn. 700 Couldn't stay with him. But it was cush no doubt. The difference between the Cadillac and the Lamborghini. I chose the Lamborghini this time around. I've learned over the years how to handle rough terrain with the quad. (Although I have yet to experience SXS Beatings) I would have hated to ride a quad over the Christmas / New Years Trip. Washes were brutal. Excited to feel the new Quad. BTW...................It's getting delivered tomorrow 11:30am TX time. Peace

My mind is still very fast. I think the body is going to tell me otherwise!! Tend to agree with ya brother. Come on out and witness for yourself. Peace

I miss my KTM 525.....that was the most fun in the dunes, but harder on the body.
I bought a KTM 525 about 4 years ago from original owner well taken care from a guy in Florida.i have been ripping it out there ever since and love that quad.im thinking about retirement for it and putting it up on a big shelf  in a building I have with some of the 3 wheelers already up there and just leave it for my kids to deal with when thay are older.but hell yeah thing is like a perfect dune machine.

Good day to rip the New Quad

Took that dude down the road a few times yesterday. "NO NAP" needed. Talk about the adrenaline flowing thru the body. Warned the neighbors before hand. They sat on their porches watching the 3 min show. Time for some paddles. Anyone need some knobbie tires? Ridden once. I'll bring them to Glamis if you're interested. Peace

Went and bought some riding gloves yesterday. Not a good selection BTW........No sand Goggles in TX. I'm in need of a new pair. Checked out the new TECH10 Boots. Boy they look nice. Pricey! ITP Paddle tires / Nerf Bars are on their way! Peace
