Old 80's Glamis

The jump by Olds used to be THE JUMP. Place was always packed. And who could forget the shenanigans at COMP! Place was crazy! Peace

It's crazy how that specific period in Glamis changed it so permanently at the hill and drags.

Bummer it happened, but at least I was the right age to see it firsthand..haha.

2000 or 2020 it was bound to happen as folks started "Marketing" Glamis to make money off the shenanigans which, made them famous and quickly get out of control.

Man I sure miss those days. Cab over campers and tents. A kid back then was the best! Riding doubles everywhere cause we could. Back when comp hill was huge! The infamous black streak across your shirt from pull starting your ride! Damn!

I remember the olds double. I was on a CR500 in 4th gear. Some fun stuff back in the day.

If you messed up it would do some serious damage. Thank God I made it everytime.

Never had the Go-Nads to try that jump. Peace

Funny thing is that 2276 Pauter motor 900 lb Fibertech / Mazzone car would beat most any modern day sxs or even  most v8s nowadays. In a smooth drag race.

Not Glamis. Not 80's. Ocotillo Wells in the 70's. Was cleaning out a box and found some OLD School pics. My dad on his KX500. And the family / friends out at Pole Line Rd Ocotillo. Check it out @sndsamplr  Peace

I don't have any problem believing that.  Everytime I see an old school V-Dub running w/a pack of cars, the V-Dub is just putting a long effortlessly.

EPIC Pics cHeffro.

Love that stuff...

Wish I still had that XR75. The people in the photo L-R is chEFF Rick Dad Shelby Lee and my Brother Danny. Shelby Lee was fast as a kid. Rick was racing the Pro Class against the likes of Magoo / Glover. We were at Carlsbad / Saddleback / Barona / Southbay Speedway / Indian Dunes. You name it we were there. This weekend I'm headed to Boston to Support Rick. He just turned 65 and is running the Boston Marathon. Just so happens that the Foxborough Supercross is the same weekend. Perfect timing. Peace
