Old 80's Glamis

Showed it to the wife since I never got to enjoy this version of Glamis (started in the early 2000s after I met her) and it definitely brought her back.

"My 185 made it up right there....yeah my Pro Wedges did the job."

Thanks for posting this vintage video!!  So many people having fun on simple ATV's, without rangers stalking them.  These were classic, happy days.  I wish I could have been there back then.

I'm 65 YO.  It's videos like this that motivate me to hold off on selling my SxS, and go back next season (unfortunately I skipped last season) with a toy hauler (never owned one) and new, better, more realistic tires and wheels for my 2017 XC 1000R Maverick, and try to really enjoy Glamis on a whole new level that I never experienced when I used to stay in a hotel in Brawley.

My Dad has all the family trip videos of us in the 80's on VHS.

I think its a goodtime for him to work on a little project of transferring that to a newer media type...
Time to get these VHS tapes and do it myself. Lots of companies do it cheap now.

:watchporn:

Lots of old pics, mostly  of my brother in law, he passed away of cancer earlier this year. He spent about 2 months a year in the dunes, mostly camping on the overlook. Doug hovland if anyone here knew him? Aka dunegod...

I started going to the dunes in the early 90's, certainly missed all the three-wheel action.  By the time I got to the dunes it was quads and VW powered cars.  China wall was an all day ride back then, nobody was ever there.

I’ll bet that there were more collect calls made from that pay phone than any other in the country back in those days.

No need to accept the charges.

Rememer the 1 pay phone in front of the store and standing in line for hours to us

Got a great story about that phone. Stood in line for an hour. The girl in front of me looks at my shirt. It said...."Chicks Dig me Cause I'm Rich" . She asked me "Are you really Rich?" And without missing a beat, straight faced serious, I said "Yes, Yes I Am." It was so funny to me cause at that time I was sleeping on the ground in a tent with my 3-wheeler and pick up truck. Peace

Is that video supposed to make me want to stay away.

The words of Charles Barkley come to mind..."You're a dumb-ass."

Just started. I make no claims on the awesomeness of this video
