Here's a couple free upgrades or changes I did to my new Pro R.

First one, Seat belt limiter bypass. I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt when riding anywhere offroad or even on road, but there are times where I don't need to be limited for not wearing it, like riding around camp site or from garage to street to load it in a trailer. The easiest solution for this is to just buy a plug and play bypass plug from amazon or XTC products ect... But if you want to do it yourself its pretty easy.

Unplug the seatbelt harness from the 6 point seat belt to the factory harness located between driver seat and center console.

Cut the other end of the harness flush with the seat belt buckle.

Cut the wires a few inches past the connector that is removed, strip and solder together. Insulate with heat shrink, plug back into RZR harness near center console and DONE.

Next change I do almost immediately. I like the factory retractable harness's that come in the RZR and Can Am but I find the two leg straps in the RZR are a PIA! Yes I know they have a purpose, but other brands come with a similar retractable harness that is only 4 point and there are plenty of 4 point harness options on the market that don't have the leg straps. For me the leg straps are either too tight restricting my leg movement on the pedals or the tail of them are hanging out getting stuck in the door when I close it. Either way I typically remove them.

First step- cut them at the buckle. Pretty simple.

Next you can either cut them at the base where they attach to the seat or if leaving the bracket there with no purpose bothers you like it does me, remove the bracket too. The problem is on the pro r 4 the bolt is too long and will not come out without removing the seat adjuster bolt and lifting the seat up.

Back seats were a little easier to access and process was the same.

Here's the finished product, 4 point retractable harness. More comfortable and less of a PIA!

the 6 point belts keep the lap belt from riding up to you nips, just like a 5th point strap. Good luck in a crash.

I agree that’s the designed purpose of the leg straps. Although if the lap belt portion is adjusted properly/ tight enough I feel they will be just fine! No different than the can am that comes with a 4 point retractable or any aftermarket 4 point harness. I agree that a 5 point harness is safer than a 4 point and Polaris’s 6 point adds a degree of safety but also feel they are now equivalent to any other 4 point harness.
