What’s the best off the shelf cam for an LS1 Sandcar? Looking for more low end torque. I’ve talked to a handful of people and people are saying BTR Stage 2-3 cam or a sloppy stage 2 cam. Wondering if anyone had any recommendations thanks.

what heads, what rpm do you want the cam to start to come in, I would not put a off the shelf street cam in a desert car with low gears,

I’d say around 1800-2200 rpm

It’s a LS6 block so I’d imagine an LS6 cam. It’s a turnkey engine supply motor.

No, I’m use to driving my fathers supercharged ls1 car so maybe that’s why I’m expecting more low end torque at that range. Just trying to see what others have used and liked that’s all.

Apples and Oranges.
No cam you install will behave like a supercharged motor.
Been there, done that.
Cam'd my LS1 etc.
Then started with a 1.9L Maggie, never looked back.
Now I have a stroked LS3 with a 2.3L Maggie.
This stuff is addicting.

I run summit's 8708 Cam in my LS1/6
