It's Saturday 9-3-22 What are you doing this Labor Day weekend?

Watched Pala, cooked up fillet mignon, sautéed mushrooms and rice.  Damn good day.
Did you have to wear sunglasses to watch it? Those guys did the sight lap wearing some type of cooling vest. Must be common. First time i remember seeing it or hearing the announcers mention it.

What an absolute f-ing waste a "tomahawk" steak is.  Great for show and tell but worthless and wasteful for all other purposes.
How did you cook it? Ive been trying to memorize the different cuts.

Tomahawk is a big ole thick ribeye apparently. With a handle. For a king to beat his peasants with.

best movie ever!
Its like a movie inside a movie. Trippy how directors can take your brain off into fantasy land. Then bring you back to reality. Then without really noticing youre back deep into the fantasy.

Didn't know packing up the garage and mancave would be so emotional. Lots of great memories on the wall. Peace

The thunderstorm hit the East County sometime last night. Must have had some good wind too. Woke up and looking in my backyard this morning was like waking up from a rager party and going WTF happened? I’ve got leaves & crap all over the place. And it’s Florida humid and you can smell it!

I guess I now know what I’m doing today after church!

I woke up last night about 1am and saw lightning to the east, I was wondering if it was raining or just dry lightning and wind...

On the smoker then reverse sear.  Paid for that big, dumb bone and the meat had a bit more grizzle than I expected.  Delicious, flavorful and tender but but I hate wasting money on food.

I recently learned about the gristle from those bearded butchers. Right there plain to see if you know how to spot it. On the video it just looked like regular fat marbling to me. My brother has a really good eye for red meat. He even spots when the butcher makes a mistake and labels a cut wrong. Sometimes i wonder if the butcher didnt plan for a buddy to show up and buy his "accidental mistake". Hook up your friends type of deal. My brother says sometimes he finds them sorta hidden underneath as he searches around. This is a Gelsons down in PB san diego. Not known for giving good deals. That place is expensive even for something like Triscuits.

Head for the west end...bluefin up at the west end of Cat right now...

The last concert in the park in Coronado.  SO much cooler than San Carlos.  LOL
