Lots of mods since I built it in 1996/1997
started life with a side draft carb and electric fuel pump on 118 octane
went to mechanical injection on methanol
now fueltech efi on methanol
its gone from a 6al ignition to a 8 ignition to a grid to efi
had a RacePak for 5 years for data logging
with all these changes a handful of partial re wiring to a complete overhaul for efi
started with just air shift, then to mechanical timers and rpm to auto shift to shifting from efi
a few brackets re purposed over time, reworked motor mounts once and had to blend paint to powder coat
original interior, powdercoat and 98% of the chrome is original
car weighs 1030lbs wet. Ran solid 3.40 et, 1.25 60 ft mid 90mph in 300 ft.
Hoping for better this year

And what did it run on the first pass down? Im sure nowhere near 3.40s....
first pass ever was 4.3 or something like that, still on gas, on gas was a constant 3.70 car
has not been down track cleanly on efi, had some issue then broke a rocker stand next time out. These were without enough tuning
we are shooting for 3.20’s but it will take some time to sort out
it’s just a baby small bore Vw
