Picked this lower up and want to make this a 'budget build'> Its a 308 lower by Tactical Machining out of Sanford, Florida.

Going to swap out the mag release for a traditional style. It has a standard military trigger for now - that may get swapped too.

Looking for a decent quality upper. I don't have one in 308 so I though this would be a good start.

Suggestions?

I dont think I have ever fired an AR.

good luck on the build. keep us up to date on how its going.

For a true budget build buy from Palmetto State. I have a .308 upper from them that has a 1000 rounds through it with no issues and paid under $400 complete.
I used one of their 556 uppers for my 10.5 sbr.Had some minor problem with bolt not quite closing all the way.I took apart went through ti compared with my armalite.Noticed my old style had no o ring for the extractor but the psa did pulled that out been trouble free since.

Also got a classic 16 upper for another build worked great from the start zero issues but ended up giving to my father in law for a b day gift last year.He likes it so far.

Have a new aero lower i got recently may go with the psa upper on it too but try for one with carry handle and classic style look.

I also have Aero lowers for both .556 and .308 that I’ve used with PSA uppers in 10.5” and 16” without issue.

Wilson Combat has some really nice drop in triggers. I'm a fan. They have uppers too.

Daniel Defense makes really nice uppers.

Like said was a minor thing easy fix. The second has not skipped a beat working really good.

They are great bang for the buck and if you go with the premium uppers good chance you will end up with an FN barrel

I know they are also doing chf barrels on them too that they are making. I’m gonna wait for holiday sales see what shows up on their site.

I just started looking into an AR10 build. I have started down the AERO platform. From what I understand not all the AR10 stuff is truly interchangeable like the AR15 stuff is. AERO has been having deals on blem complete uppers. I'm have a 6.5 creed moor I'm going with. 22" barrel. Expecting the put a can on it. Saving my money for the optics. Good luck and let us know how you end up.

I have read up a little on it and this is a DPMS /platform' so I need to stick with that.

I just went down the AR rabbit hole in the last week as well. Palmetto didn't make it any easier with their "Halloween sale" on damn near everything. Sure it may just be a ploy but it felt all warm and fuzzy inside lol. Complete kit for under $500 and then a local stripped lower for less than $200. How can you not?

The AR options sure as hell are confusing as heck. Especially when you start bringing in Cali laws. I fell in love with a buddy's that we were shooting. Figured I had to have one. Until I realized, that little s**t! It was very un-Cali or should I say, his rifle had more freedom than I did. LOL

I'm assuming that thousands of AR's and AK's in Cali houses, garages and storage units are breaking the Cali laws. People are not going to be controlled too much, at least not in the USA.

Aero is the best bang for the buck. And you can get great deals when they are on sale. I would avoid PSA. Some people are lucky and get a good one, others are not so lucky.

I have shot most of the triggers available for AR platforms and the Hyperfire is my favorite. Hyperfire triggers are awsome. I have them in every AR accept for my JP LRI20.

Here's a couple Aero AR-10's in 308 that I built.

To be fair not all PSA’s are the same. They have different levels. Also nobody is buying a PSA to take to work either. I have 3 uppers. Nothing great but my kids can’t tell the difference between BCM and PSA but dad’s wallet can.
Currently building aka saving for 2 aero builds. Each gun will be over 1k without optic.

I just know the PSA's can be a gamble. Probably more good than bad since they are still around. I'm just a boujee bitch and like fancy stuff

I sold most of my Aero builds to buy my JP LRI20 in 6.5cm
