Christmas to new years 2025, what have you destroyed?

Dunned just over 300 miles in 6 days. On the buggy the transmission main seal is leaking, need to replace that and my clutch. Moho Serpentine belt broke on the way home yesterday (fixed that on the road), Moho needs a new MAF and also has a bent jack, and the fuel station pump on the enclosed stopped working (spins but no fuel comes out anymore). Two weekends to get everything done.

Did an unplanned X3 primary clutch service, due to a belt that broke with very low mileage. Found that one of the weights was bound and would not move. Took everything apart and got it all fixed up with new parts. Went to put the clutch back on and the primary bolt wouldn't thread all the way into the crankshaft without force. There was a burr or some kind of crap in the crank threads. I hit up KWI and they were no help at all. I looked all over the place to find an M14-1.5 thread chaser or tap with no luck. I hit up @Sand Shark and @megadesertdiesel to see if they had one. They did not, but @megadesertdiesel was able to take an extra M14-1.5 bolt I had and grind some flutes into it. This homemade thread chaser worked perfectly, and I was good to go. I'll be adding an angle grinder to my trailer tool set now. Thanks again guys!!

Good to see you!!!!

You missed the adventure of our night ride where my lower radius rod bolt decided to sheer off. Thankfully we were on the way back to camp and were less than 2 miles from camp. We were in the big dunes behinds Olds and thankful it did not happen there. Did a fix to get me back to camp and of course @megadesertdiesel had the bolt I needed. Thankfully he kept his extra X3 bolts and other stuff when he got his Pro R.

Looking over my car today and my Packard front wheels have cracks. Good news is the new KWI clutches with the float mod worked great all week.

It was a carnage week and we had a few half turtles too. LOL!!!

Did over 300 miles of duning.

For those that might wonder - getting a truck load of wood from Big Belly Crew delivered to our camp was the best decision the group made. Huge camp fires all week and managed to burn all the wood.

which packard wheels do you have? i almost pulled the trigger on them last night

Expensive week. One sand car on its lid, one rzr on its lid in our camp. In my sons camp, 2 blown diffs in 2 different pre runners, 2 blown engines in pre runners, 1 bent rear 9" housing on a pre runner, broken transmission on the recovery vehicle, and lost the computer in the chase truck trying to recover the last pre runner that broke.

The V2 Superstar non-beadlock. This is the second time I have cracked the centers. The first time the centers did not have much meat and they did a revision. Apparently the revision is not enough for me either.

I have been running the current wheels for 4 seasons.

Just Pre Runners doing Pre Runner things....sounds epic LOL

Your kid have Pics of those trucks?

Forgot to add to the list of carnage one belt that did not last long due to worn out clutches. So off to KWI at vendors for new clutches, clutch kit and float mod. Worked flawlessly the rest of the week.

Lots of broken parts out there but its just part of the sport. I have one more day in the sand then it’s time to go home after our 9 day trip.

I have an M14 1.5 tap but I'm not out there!

what year is the dmax? i replaced mine on my chevy with the aluminum ones from dorman, seemed to work well
Crazy I read this today. My 04 has been missing some coolant didn’t see any in the obvious places to look.

I crawled under truck today saw a small drop of coolant look up appears some has been dripping down at rear of engine. Shine light see the inner fitting has coolant under it.

Head to oriely s to buy the fitting china freight for the release tool. Get home get pliers to undo the clamp barely touched it and the hose fell off just got back from glamis yesterday too.

Will be doing the stainless ones soon just got the plastic to get by for now.

those things are so brittle after a couple years, dorman makes one and a couple diesel shops have their versions also. probably all the same stuff. i used the same one on both hoses with no issues.

Got the call from the dealership today. EGR cooler hose is leaking. They are going to replace the heater hoses while they are in there as well. Cost of the repair floored me. 3k parts and labor and that was them giving me a deal.
