CFMOTO new sport machine the Z Force Z10

IM sorry but to patent the location of the turbo as "behind the centerline " of the motor is about as lame as it gets. he might as well patent the location of the fuel tank to be in a certain place too and one else can do that--this is getting crazy. There are better things to do in life!!

i guess i need to start moving all my turbos on all my Subarus , the turbo is behind the centerline of the motor.

I have no issues with people patenting their designs & ideas. Everyone one does it. Heck most of the clues and leaks we get for the next utv coming out are through patent drawings and filings. So for Robby to do it is smart too. But the problem is his patents in many cases are weak and probably will not stand up in court if challenged. Problem is Robby goes after the weak that don’t have 10’s of thousands of dollars to fight it in court. All while his attorney is a partner in his business, so filing suits is easy and cost nothing. But a guy like you and I can’t afford to fight it to be right. So we just move on. But a company like Polaris. Arctic Cat or CFMoto have deeper pockets and can squash him.

yeah the patent deal with the XX and Speed is awful for the aftermarket guys. IRC/JEHC/RW, when Jason started to blast him on his youtube podcast... wow

I 100% agree with patents to protect your idea, but like stated so many ideas are copies with a minor twist.
Now the deal with TAPP not getting paid for their work or patent, all just adds to the RG drama bin.

This Z10 does look pretty good spec wise. Personally I think it looks like a RZR and X3 mated in the looks department, not a fan yet. The rear storage area is the biggest draw back for me. I came from a Rhino bed to a Wildcat XX bed and love the space. All my friends with YXZ, Honda's and X3 build huge racks to carry a spare or tools/coolers.

The biggest negative for me is the huge dash and controls. I don't want any of that fancy electronics, just like street cars and trucks they are so overloaded with tech that cannot be fixed in the field if/when broken.

The options out of the box, roofs, scoop and other details sure show they have an intent to be in the market.
and the price tag $$$$$$ is perfect for me. We use to joke about 40k Rhino builds now I can't even get a basic model SxS it seams.

That’s awesome. What does SuperATV plan to build for it?

When I got here this morning, it was already stripped down and getting scanned.

Starting with the easy stuff and basics first. I'm sure we'll have windshields and skid plates done really quick.

From there, suspension, ball joints, axles, lifts, bumpers portals, cab enclosures, cargo stuff, probably work on a long travel, and lots more.

I know it’s not a Super ATV thing, but you guys should think about doing do a tear down video to show people what’s under some of this plastics or things like how the front hood comes off, what’s under it? How does the rear plastics to access the engine come off. Can you access behind the dash to hook up accessories? Where’s the battery mounted, maybe thoughts on some accessories you might do as you are seeing the car come apart to be scanned.

I'll make sure we do that!! My guys were fighting with the engineering guys for it...and the engineering guys were fighting with the shop guys who already started tearing it down.

We can DEFINITELY do a video on this.

- Hood and what's under it
- Rear plastics - engine access
- Behind the dash - accessories
- Battery mount

I was out there about an hour ago and it was on the lift with all the suspension torn off the left side. I'm sure it was all being scanned. They probably already scanned for a skid plate.

Anything else you want to see?
As soon as we're able to get it from the shop guys, we can put out a video super quick.

If the skid plates are off, what’s it look like under it? How’s stuff run through the chassis, how’s the driveline look.

Maybe show or share an opinion of the suspension mounting tabs on the chassis. Do they look weak and maybe need a bolt on support kit? Look robust and not necessary? Do the same and show the rear suspension points too.

How does oil changes and servicing look?

If anything else found of interest, share that too.

We went out and did a Facebook Live video with it this morning, but the problem with the live....once its over...its over. It was cool to run through it though.

It is VERY similar to an X3.
- Battery behind the passenger, just like the X3 setup.
- Hood removal was just like the X3 and looked very similar under there.
- Rear plastics looked really easy to remove. Just a handful of torx screws and it pops right off. It looks like CF has it set up pretty well for an OEM cargo box that will probably drop soon. We didn't get a chance to remove them on the video, but it looks pretty basic.
- Dash: we didn't get to yank the dash, but it looks pretty easy to remove a panel in front of the hood and get behind there. Not a ton of room, but enough. Again...just a handful of torx screws.
- Rack looks like the X3s
- Diff looks nice and the front prop looks stout. Very similar to the X3. Diff is also very easy to access and remove.
- Front many need some kind of bulkhead or frame stiffener for the mud guys with big tires.
- It does have a full coverage "skid?" of sorts. It is very thin molded plastic, but it covers the entire belly. There are plenty of access points under the skid for easy servicing. It can also be removed in sections for more access. DEFINITELY needs a beefier skid for rock crawling though. Its pretty thin.
- Service should be simple. Its all very well thought out and laid out. Everything is easy to access.
- All suspension tabs "look" pretty thin, but they are all double-shear so we'll see there. Personally, I'd want to beef up all the mounting points. It looks thin. - The stock axles look pretty weak for bigger tires. Small CVs and small splined shafts.
- The screen is awesome. Huge! And the Apple car play is going to be super nice.
- Looks pre-wired for an OEM stereo, but we didn't dig deep enough to look for wires. Ready for door speakers and tweeters in the dash.
- VERY little room for rocker switches. I think you have 2 switch locations available. Any more and you'll need a switch-pro.
- You definitely need some kind of aftermarket storage. There is zero storage on the stock machine.
- Seats and cab are really nice. More like Polaris. Seats are comfortable and set up for harnesses.
- Not sure how much I like the dead pedal yet. I didn't get to drive it, but I'm sure it'll beat your left knee up without a bag on the door.

Overall, its a killer machine for $20k. There's a whole lot of bang for the buck.

My biggest complaints
- Zero storage
- Room for only 2 rocker switches. No room in the dash.
- We'll see how the axles hold up
- We'll see how the frame tabs hold up

I'll try to get some pics of these spots next week.
