Even if it was in my price range, I REALLY  don't like the body style...

X2 on the Cadillac CTS V. My buddy bought one last year. Did a tune, exhaust and supercharger pulley and that thing rips. Super luxurious car too

I edited my post and will only say these cars are fun to drive but the quality just isn't there.

And I hate to say it because I'm not a rice rocket kind of guy, but an even funner car to drive and own would be a late model Civic type R with a manual trans, they are E ticket rides.

My wife has an Acura CL and it's fun as hell to drive.  Not super comfortable for me, but for short squirta around town...  fun.

I might look into a CTS again...  I have a buddy who owns a vette shop and has quite a few CTD customers.

Did GM put autos in the CTS?

Both MT and AT

I've never driven the V8 version but an interesting observation I've made having spent time in both a 300 Limited and a Charger with the 3.6 is that the Charger doesn't know what it is trying to be. The 300 ride quality and behavior matches it's appearance and is a killer freeway flyer for long trips. The Charger is the same car with different clothes yet feels smaller inside and rides like hell. They tuned the suspension to be way firmer so it rides very stiff and at the same time still wallows around since it's a big car. It was not pleasant.

My mother has the 300 and with the 3.6 / ZF 8-speed, it does 30mpgs on long freeway hauls and still scoots along surprisingly well. I have the same drivetrain in my '21 Grand Cherokee WK2 (+4wd) and it is always eager to get with the program.

It's a shame the Chevy SS sedan didn't catch on. 6.0LS that could be had in AT and MT. Those were fun and cruised so far under the radar.

My mom has a 2018 Jeep cherokee srt with the 6.4 in it.

Buddies wife has a 2018 scat pack charger srt with the 6.4 as well.  Lots of power and good handling cars.  The jeep had some differential issues, the dealer replaced the transfer case and both differentials under warranty.

Another buddy of mine had a 2018 hellcat charger.  Absolute monster of a car, i drove it frequently and absolutely loved it.  Its hard to drive it mellow though, knowing what its capable of is very difficult to stay out of the throttle.  I wont implicate myself but i have done some pretty high speeds in that car.

One thing i would highly suggest keeping an eye out for is theft.  All of the SRT packaged cars are a huge target for theft.  They have some sort of computer hacking thing that allows them to open and start and drive away with the car without touching a single wire or having the key nearby.  There are some good anti theft systems i would recommend if your going to get one of these.

any one have any suggestions on something else that is similar to the CTS-V/Charger (Excluding a Moostang or Camero)?

Look into insurance, the Charger/Challenger are stolen/wrecked/stolen then wrecked a LOT.  If you're not going to be parking it in a secure garage at home and work, just plan on yours ending up at a "street takeover" sooner or later.  What's your budget?  Gen III CTS-Vs are killer, but also still pretty big $.  Gen II CTS-Vs are awesome and now pretty affordable *but* finding one that hasn't been ragged to death is getting tougher.  I really liked ATS-Vs but TTV6 doesn't make the good V8 noises.  Chevy SS is cool, but also very hard to find not beat to death or super over-priced.  Oh, also Pontiac G8s (espec. GXP) which are the same car.

No good V8 noises, but you get turbo noises and overall a much better car than the SS/G8:

I was hoping to keep it aroud 30k, but in order to not get something beat to death, I think 50k is probably more reasonable.

I've never seen the SS before its interesting, i will look into them.   I like the CTS-V but think the bodies are kind of ugly.  Just not smooth/flowing/finished, not super appealing to me.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm this makes the car look a little bit better, and tickles my fancy for the "little bit strange".....  not @onanysunday strange, but definitely different that everyone else strange.
