I have dealt with the Cali crap for a long time but this one really bugs me...

Bill SB1383

so for the longest time in business i have had a $165 3 yard dumpster

then a few years ago they required another 3 yard dumpster for my cardboard.  they charge me an extra $135 for this dumpster, they put a lock on it so people dont steal it and then they make money on the recycling but cant give me the dumpster for no charge or any credit

so after Thanksgiving i find a new residential trash can on my property  i ask what is this.  They tell me that it is for my organic waste and is required by law. It told them im a shop and dont have organic waste.  after a month they denied my claim to forego the $91 a month small 65 gallon trash can.  they want me to now separate my food scraps and paper towels into the organic trash can and yard clippings.

so i pay $391 a month for trash at my shop.  I have a single dumpster at my home and only pay $135 for a 5 yard dumpster and can put everything in

They have the franchise where my shop is so no alternative.  The state is claiming that organic waste going into the landfills are contributing to green house gases  Oh my  i am glad i only have a few more years of this

:simrak:

It's the CA way...gouge the people.

The problem with people running this state who have actually NEVER worked before!

How the eff does that happen? I swear these people won the High school popularity contest for class president saying Free Pizza for Everyone if you vote for me!

Then in reality, oh sorry, lunch is going up and no more chocolate milk!

:bag:

We are supposed to do this here in Riverside at our house. My Warehouse has not had to do this yet.

I got out of KA and moved to NV.  The garbage nazi's are here too. I accidentally put trash in the recycling can (well, they are BOTH green cans so wtf?).  They sent a warning letter with a PHOTO of my trash. One more warning, then I get a fine and after that, they suspend my service for a year.   Thank you, Mr. Soprano.....

No these kids were the idiots in school that we all told them they were idiots and just plain weird....we had different people and Weirdos...these people were the friggen freaks that are now in charge.....

Everything these days wants a special label and special identity, special treatment.

Thrash is thrash, my recyclables and organic matter identify as regular waste, please don't make it feel excluded!

I hate where all this BS Legislation is heading, yore a fool if you think its only here in CA.

Money making and Taxation scams happen everywhere, eventually.

Ca passes a law, and then the trash companies find a way to profit off of it.  Go look at Egg prices right now, a year ago $3 a dozen, now $12 all because of a new law saying the Chickens need more living space to live comfortably.  My point Politicians never look at the long-term financial affects, only what makes them feel good.  Most don't even know what ROI stands for............

it's pretty funny, because here in Riverside I got a notice about this "organic waste / food waste" program.  They want us to use our green waste (yard waste) trash cans for food waste.... but get this!! they want us to put the food waste into plastic bags in order to separate it! the same damn plastic bags that they banned a few years ago in order to limit the amount of plastic bags going to the landfills LOL... you cannot make this chit up.

We haven't got that far yet (plastic bags).  We have been putting our food waste in our Greens for a couple of years, along with the dog shiat.  Hope we don't get in trouble................

One positive for us with the food waste, our trash cans don't stink nearly as much, and since we are empty nesters now, our inside trash only gets full once a week.

Another ridiculous law based on climate change, which of course we all know is a red herring to cover the real motive, control and greed.

The Feds are now working on banning all new gas stoves due to them being "dangerous" and contributing to climate change.

The insanity will continue until it destroys our once great country.

Here is an interesting read I think would surprise many and exposes some of the lies that have been perpetuated on the general public in the name of climate change. https://fee.org/articles/the-myth-that-the-polar-bear-population-is-declining/

We just got hit with it here in Poway. Same deal. We have always had a dumpster. Then they forced us and charged us for recycling. Ok fair enough, recycling is good. Now they just forced us to have a green waste. We have all hardscape as they wanted to save water. I tried to fight it but their respond was the same as above......food your food water in there. Really, I am supposed to ask all our tenants to separate their food from their trash and put it in the green bin?? They said they will have people coming out and searching our dumpster and if we were throwing food waste in the dumpster, they would fine me. WAJ

Its all a Joke / After Christmas I put our  Recycle bin / Trash Bin and Yard waste bin out front....I was the only person with trash out (forgot about the day later holiday schedule).....Im standing there with overloaded bins and our trash guy drove by....saw me / backed the truck down the street into the cul de sac and dumped all 3 bins for me into the recycle truck

He shrugged his shoulders / laughed and said have a great day!!!

I was soo happy / we were overloaded and he took everything in same truck

Whole recycle thing is NUTS!!!

How does putting that green waste into a compost pile change its emissions?

Very little "recyclables" actually get recycled. There has been a few reports from the media about this in the last year.

Do you have a lawn service who handles landscaping and mowing?  I was able to get this waved in Corona because I did not have a need for a green waste dumpster because the green waste was taken offsite for disposal.  I had to provide them the contact info for the landscapers to confirm.

I was thinking the opposite, contact a landscaper and sell your dumpster rights to him.

We have a recycle dumpster for the public here at work.  People throw all kinds of crap in there.  Unless they have an army of folks pilfering through this stuff, no way this is getting recycled.

After the "bag ban", people were using reusable bags, carrying in their arms, etc.  But now I've noticed the same amount of bags are being used, they're 3x as thick and now we just eat the "tax" on them.

We have it at work, a special food trash bin. So far I haven't found anything good to eat in it. Its a joke, nobody uses it, not even the snowflakes.

Have to admit, wouldn't mind seeing Newsome end up in a recycle dumpster.
