ABC's truck broken into, last night

Cameras won't do chit other than make your blood boil watching someone take your stuff.  Had my generator jacked from my trailer (wasn't locked, whoops) when I stopped for gas in El Centro.  Dude stole it while I was pumping gas.  Bystander saw the whole thing and got it all on video.  Turned it over the police, who not only had clear pictures of the plates and the crime, but also fawking recognized  the dirtbag who stole it.  

Didn't do a goddamned thing other than tell me I can request the police report for $10.

If you go to Zihuatanejo, check out Andy's Fishing Charters... couple old guys own... White guy and a black guy... think they might be gay, but who knows...The boat is older, but hell that guy is a whiz at financial stuff like taxes....Always seem to find him out on the beach digging tunnels.

If he’s gay, he was very selective with his partners. Even threatened to bite a dude’s schlontz off. 

 
I get the f-ing heeby jeebies just driving through the LA/Orange/north of San Diego areas.  You couldn't pay me to live up there.  If you're not IN a sh!thole, your just a few blocks from one.

 
We were having trouble about 15 years ago in my neighborhood with tweekers/petty theft. They'd do thousands of dollars worth of damage to steal a couple bucks worth of crap. I set up trips that would trigger an alarm and flashing light in my bedroom. I bought 6 pairs of these cable cutters and put them in different parts of the yard where I knew where to find them.  Had a lot of false alarms but finally caught this guy stealing a radiator and surprised him with a floor jack handle. I cut off about half of his right thumb and let him go. He must have told his friends cuz we really didn't have any trouble after that.

OK, so kinda an update, last night mail boxes were broken into and here's a really weird one. My neighbor with the plumbing company across the street, started to lock his work truck behind his RV access gate after being broken into a few weeks back. This morning on the cinderblock wall next to the gate he found a loaded 9mm Glock magazine just sitting on the block wall. Not sure if that was some sort of threat or what to make of it. 

But as someone else mentioned before in this post, we have to assume these thieves are armed.

sounds like they broke in to more cars and found the loaded mag and maybe no gun and left it there.

 
Standard capacity?  Nice score. Factory Glock?  Shows how re-tarded these people are.  Check the ammo.  Be great if it was random rounds.  Few different calibers will fit.

I'm thinking this is the most likely scenario. A buddy up the street from KS, left a gun under his seat, unlocked car and it was stolen. That dude was eventually caught and is in prison largely due to the video evidence I caught him with my cameras. I have a new system after ditching RING, but haven't put it up yet, need to ASAP.

This is getting bad. Time to move to MT.

I just don't want to pay a monthly fee, if it is something that can just have recorded to an external hard drive???

 
You bet.. I had this brand, switched to RING (hate those).. my new system will better DPI as my old. Brand is SWANN and you have your own hard drive... all hard wired to it. I have 16 cameras (still in box). Also, you can set up a Gmail account and stream to your phone from anywhere. I don't set mine for motion, it records 24/7 and on the old hard drive than means I got 9 days before it overlapped. Not sure how many days the new set will get me.

NEVER us wireless, they suck.. oh and to your point, no monthly fees!
