My car had that kind of linkage/connection at the trans end when I bought it and it had shifting problems. The shifter also had some slop which I am sure accounted for most of the problem.

I didn’t want to spend the money on a Pro Am shifter and two u-joints, but I did and now it shifts easy without any problems.

The car has a pro am shifter but shitty linkage in between. I was able to find a part at Kartek. Hopefully this works without any fab work

Honestly I’d get a solid shaft made for it. Kartek has the right ends for you. Plus the right size tube.  And you can go anywhere to get it welded up real quick.
