4th and last connector finally done. I'm calling the frame substantially built. I need to weld the main frame rails at the one joint after paint. And then this bulkhead will get a TIG weld along the edge to tie the bumper into the frame and unibody portion of the frame. Front bumper brackets and mount the front bumper next and then build rear bumpers. I think that front end will be fairly strong now if I decide to run this thing into something. I need a break from this thing. Going to head to the mountains for a few days. I would say this thing will roll off the rack on its own hopefully in 3 weeks. Bought some simple little valve stems to screw into each airbag and air them up for now.

Could not be happier with how the front bumper came out. I was able to get everything very accurate and did not even need to notch the holes for fitment. It all bolts together tight. Edited to add there is a small Gap under where those brackets are and where the bulkhead connector is. The front section of the frame needs to be pushed up before that joint is welded in. So that Gap right now is wider than it will be.

As an homage to the famous Little Red wagon I am naming the truck Little Rusty Wagon. My brother is a graphic designer and does work for a lot of high-end clients. He is going to work on a font for the lettering and I will have some steel cut out to make panels that run inside the bed along where the engine is. These panels will be in place of dimple die panels I was originally going to put in. Maybe have it two layers and have the background patina rusted. I think we can make it look really cool.

Metric crap ton of work but I am so happy with the bumpers. Still need to do a little notching in the holes for adjustment and turning the bumpers so they fit perfectly. That quarter inch steel for the bracket still has some twist on each bumper so I need to add some gussets.

Sure was easy welding the rest of those joints out of the truck. Time for some paint. Of course the frame will have multiple additional cross braces added later once I know where everything goes.

Decided to go a little darker shade of bronze for the bumpers, exterior roll bar, and all the exterior airplane wing bulkhead dimple die metal work on the outside. Give it a little bit of contrast instead of making it all the same color. Then the wheels stay their own color. There will be a lot of black in the bed and the darker color will look good against all the black.

Well it's got some pop in the light so it might just be good. Getting pumped to roll this thing off the rack. Been on here a minute or two. LOL I'm guessing 200 hours to build the frame and bumpers.

Oh and one of the guys did end up showing up today and gave me a hand getting that frame in. Which was nice. Still made it easy with the A-frame and cherry picker both.

Rear bumper brackets and gusseting turned into quite a project. I knew it would. Now they are super Stout. Color is way wrong I had mixed up. Makes me mad I did that. Just throw a couple hundred bucks out the window. I'm going to a different paint store we have used over the years and they are hand mixing a color trying to match the wheels exactly. Not going to bash the first paint store. It was my own fault and I chose the wrong color. This time I will do the two stage with clear. I also think I'm going to spread a little body filler on those bumpers and fill the scratches. Old rusty truck with perfect bumpers. LOL

Truck is sitting on its Wheels now. No air in the bags it drops down to about two and three quarter inches off the ground. For the UP travel I put the energy suspension bushings which are pretty dense. Now I have to guess or figure out how much further the wheel is going to travel up between the internal bump stop in the bag and that rubber bushing. New color is a lot closer and I think will be good. I will bolt on the bumpers on Monday and this thing off the rack.
