Decided to go for a walk.

Walking is great. In addition to the exercise that you’re getting you can also solve all of the world’s problems or just listen to music or whatever.
As far losing or maintaining weight, I’ve never been a fan of diets or depriving myself of food that I like.
Instead I weigh myself almost every day. If I like the weight that I’m at, I do the same thing that I did yesterday. But if I have gained weight or want to lose weight, I eat less and/or drink a light beer instead of an IPA.

Guys, I've seen this 1,000 times....people bust their ass to reach their weight loss goal. Then, they do and it isn't long and they're off their diet. Then....it isn't long they are as big, or bigger than ever.

Don't let up once you've reached your goal.

Exactly, this is why it can't be a diet, it needs to be a lifestyle change of some level. It isn't hard to change your diet if you do it slowly, becomes 2nd nature.

Get off processed carbs and you will be amazed. Don't get me wrong, you can still cheat but do it with moderation and maybe only once a day. It is really easy. For me, Bread is the toughest, there is no healthy bread, I love sandwiches, now I only have one twice a week and I make sure I double up on the protein, so it slows you digestion (no blood sugar spikes) and make you feel fuller.

I used to drink four cans of Pepsi each day.
- Down to one or just water now.

I used to order/make enough food that there was always something left over.
- Now I order small portions. We eat more than we need to.

I used to keep snacks around the house "just because".
-Now I limit it to only Chocolate Chip cookies; Trader Joes or Sprouts only. Chips Ahoy used to be currency, for me. Frozen fruit and fruit bars for the Daughter. She does get ONE cookie each day after finishing her dinner.

I used to eat a HUGE lunch that I justified with my after work, work load.
-Now its extremely limited to the extend of just holding me over until dinner

I've held my weight solid for the last two years within 2-5 lbs, depending on the Holiday. I look and feel far better than anyone I know who is my age (a recent pic posted here shows this very clearly 🤣 ) and it also helps to chase the 3 year old around.

The last and best part of my changes was acquiring a woman 19 years younger than me that wants to keep me around. This has led to a lot of health focused changes, my favorite being a regular consumption of Greek food. Lighter than my past diets and keeps me from eating like a 6 year old.

I walk or exercise in the morning often, bowl of healthy cereal, no lunch. decent dinner, and ice cream often - I only drink water and coffee. (Beers or other drinks only when camping or if the wife and I go out to dinner). I am in decent shape I'd say, but always want to be in better shape.

From what I see - killers are people who eat 3 big meals a day and drink a few or more beers every night...to each their own of course, but I want to be healthy and ripping in the dunes as long as I can. If I cut out my ice cream addiction, it might just happen.

Good Job @Grease Monkey. Keep up the moving parts. Rescued a Dog Thanksgiving. He's changed my life. His Energy and mine has caused us to see the City of Grapevine, TX Daily. Since the Ice / Snow has arrived Friday and won't melt until Wednesday has caused us both to go Stir Crazy. 16* Weather sucks. I don't know how people do it every year up North. I've never enjoyed Snow Skiing due to the Weather. My Winter Sport has Sand in it. Hope to see Y'ALL soon! Peace
