3 mile round trip with the dog. Uphill all the way back.

Feeling my age or lack of trying to feel better.

Been going to the gym for about 10 years now. I like the classes. Weight training along with calisthenics. Kinda like school back in the day! lol Helps with not getting beat up driving the car around. 1 hour, 3 times a week. 65 years old. Get to class and start eating a little bit better. My son over the last year or more has been fasting from dinner to lunch and has lost 60lbs. 230 to 170 and he is 5ft 8, 34yo. No bread. Probably a few other things. No gym yet either. Just some extra walking around his property. There is no time like the present to get started. You're not going to lose it fast. I started out once a week for a month or so then moved to twice a week and so on. I think a good start would be this company called OrangeTheory https://www.orangetheory.com/en-us/locations
I don't go there but it is similar to what I do. Good luck Eric!

I have cut out Processed Foods - Most of the useless Carbs I used to consume and made a commitment to get it done no matter what. My goal for 2026 is to do my age in pushups 5X per week every morning all at once for rest of my life - Its tough and not many older folks can do it.

Day 1 was 27 in a row - Ill update you as it gets better but day 4 was 31 in a row - Been eating Chicken, fish , steak, cottage cheese, Protein Yogurt with blueberries and feel Incredible - No alcohol for the past 18 months and I can honestly say that it feels amazing. I am not even tempted by the things I was dependent on before - I just choose not to consume things that don't make me stronger....

For me (others can do whatever they want I do not judge or really care) BUT- there is NO EXCUSE in the world I can tell myself that its OK to be Fat and out of shape - Whatever it is - ITS BULLCHIT - RFK is doing so much good for the USA. We have been effed over by Lawyers / Food Companies / political leaders / Pharma companies and its created a culture / society of Lazy - Privilidged - Fat Azz victims who need a "safe space" if someone tells them the daam truth. IT IS CRAZY !!!!

Ill say it out loud - Pretty Simple - If you cant at least go for a walk 30 minutes everyday and do some push ups and sit ups and eat healthy then you can't complain when you become a FAT diabetic and are a liability to the people you claim to love - Its BS and people know it !

Forget the Azz hats that bring negativity to your life - Eat Healthy - Cut out the BS junk food that you KNOW is killing you from within and GET MOVING ! Tomorrow is week 6 for me and I won't stop till I am on the CR500 again in Glamis ripping it like b4 with Slappy McDuner and singing a tune!

@Grease Monkey - DO NOT QUIT - Steer the course and let nothing stop you from being healthy NOW ! You have some great time in the dunes right now to propel your workouts b4 everyone everyone gets up in the morning - Take advantage of it and keep going ! You can do it! THIS WILL BE THE BEST BIRTHDAY IF YOU DO IT ! Take a pic today and put it away till next year 2027 Then post em both up !!!!! I promise it will be an amazing transformation if you stick with it !

I've struggled with my weight as I've aged. Being a football player early in life and trying to gain weight back then caught up with me as I established poor eating habits. Off and on diets with success only to gain it back later were deflating to say the least. In late 2024 I decided to try the GLP thing. Over the past 1.5 yrs I've lost 85 pounds and I feel amazing. The goal I set for myself was to lose 90 pounds. I'm just about there and starting to get into a maintenance routine vs weight loss. Until recently I was embarrassed to acknowledge I was using the medication. It felt like I was cheating and a failure because I couldn't do it on my own. At my last DR appt he gave me a ration of chit for not telling people what I'm doing that is working. He said i was a poster child showing this stuff works and there are many out there can benefit from it and I need to tell them. What he said made sense so I no longer hide what I'm doing. If you struggle with weight loss I'm here to tell you this stuff works pretty dang well.

Glad to hear the GLP worked for you. I was in a similar weight struggle from sports early in life, then poor diet choices...

I tried the the GLP only because I was able to get the pens for free from a friend. Over several months of use I saw virtually no effects. My wife was using as well because it was free. She, on the other hand, is still on it and is down about 25lbs.

Just by changing how and what I eat, I'm down about 30lbs over the last 6 months.

Congrats ! whatever it takes to get you rolling the right way !!! 85 lbs is INCREDIBLE !!!! You now have a new lease on life and that is awesome. I am sure if you just get out and move and stay active you will be great - AWESOME !!!

I really think the good eating is 85% of it ! Common sense - the world does you no favors with all the options they provide and the crazy amounts of sugar in everything......Beef Jerky is your friend - gets me out of bad choices! also greek yogurt and blueberries

NICE JOB!!!!!!

Greenbelt. 3.7 miles of former railroad right of way. Watch out for coyotes at night

Strand. 2 miles nestled next to the sand on one side and some of the most expensive real estate in the country on the other. Great for cruising on a skateboard. Yes I'm 57 and still skate.

and of course, the beach itself

Way to go, mayne!

You all know I'm there 6x/week with strict focus on functional movement exercises.

Day 1: 50 overhand pull-ups, 50 underhand pull-ups, 150 push-ups, 100 dips, back rows, machine flys, narrow lat pull-downs, 20-min stair master
Day 2: 60 reps of 35lb. kettle single leg step-ups (each leg), seated calves, shoulder press, shrugs, leg extensions, calve extensions, upright shoulder pulls, lateral dumbbell raises, leg press
Day 3: 3.5 miles at 11-15 incline 2.5 min intervals
Day 4: Same as day 1 except 100 push-ups, and 60 weighted dips (45lb. plate), bicep and tricep exercises, 20-min stair master
Day 5: squat to alt. side shoulder pulls, 60 36" box jumps, lying flat should pulls, standing calves, deep squat belt squats.
Day 6: Same as 3 but 3 miles at 11 incline
Day 7: chill

+ whenever I play ball outside with my boy.

Start small and failure won't happen. I started by cutting out Potatoes. Next month cut Pasta, next month rice, next month Pizza..................I just kept reducing my carb intake. Dropped 40lbs and every blood test has come back better. I go to the gym on average twice a week, just to keep moving, no goals other than spend 90 minutes doing something there.

I like to snack, so instead of chip or cookies, I now eat pork rinds, string cheese, pickles or a banana.....all have virtually no carbs.

This was a two-year plan, don't be in a hurry and look at the tiny steps, not the big ones. I get on the scale twice a month, I am no longer worries about my weight. Just living this way. Complex carbs is what is ruining our country.
