Yesterday my throttle cable started sticking horribly due to sand getting into it due to the seals coming undone.

On my 3rd cable in 4 years and I buy the purple ones from Kartek.

Is there a better option out there that anyone is using? Maybe ones with better seals?

I think Pacific Customs. I know a local shop in Tucson had them also. Chirco Automotive on east 22nd Street. 520 744 1984

Control cables in santa fe springs. They will make you whatever you need.

X3
The Kartek are some of the worst i have used, the Control Cables for Throttle and shifting are the best
Thanks for chiming in!! I wondered what was wrong with the cables and now this makes sense. Just ordered a control cable branded version.

Just replaced my throttle cable (Kartek) and it already feels rough after 2 trips...WTF!!

I would call pacific customs and they might have the length you need in stock. Easier to replace now then deal with an issue in the dunes.

Shop in Tucson makes cables for Alex Arvizu I think.
He had them make me shifter cables and a new throttle cable.
All work great after 2 years.

Control Cables IMO are the best of the best. 0 the old Morse Cables ( red ones) are cheaper but old tech and fail way more often. - control cables will usuially out live thew owner

Also Control Cables typically ships in 2-3 day of build time, they are quick, the Kartec cables are aluminum jacketed and gaul over time, the control cable is a spiral steel cable.

All I know is that mine lasted many years. It was also not exposed directly to sand as I had solid floors and a panel in front of pedals that protected it also.

Are you guys using the push pull style cable or the regular throttle cable from control cables?

They will make it how ever you want. I use the cable with barrel end on throttle body side and push pull at throttle pedal.
