Kawasaki released the Teryx 4 H2 today! 250HP

I think that feature has always been a myth among the community.

Speaking from a car manufacturer perspective...

The factory always has some sorta "break in tune" going on for the first 2k mi or so.

Would an off-road manufacturer do this?

Would be foolish not to.

Would also be pretty foolish to run any four wheel drive vehicle (designed for off road) on asphalt!

So yeah, who knows. 😜

EVO ECU flash results, off-season pricing, mechanical and electrical and operational mulligans,, worth waiting it out at these prices.
But once the wifie drives one she'll bust out the checkbook if the price is right.
Dog and grand daughter hauler.

Hope battery change-outs and oil changes are easy access.
The plug and play lighting, the plug and play Amp for the sound system,, this vehicle has been thought-out.
We've owned at least 7 new SXS's and the Sound System installing shops have never been a smooth process.

I think it'll be a good rock crawler, we'll see. Wifie grows devils horns for rock crawling. Absolute fanatic.
Those stock Carnivores are good, all around tires.

No one loves that 4 cyl Kawai engine more than us..
MFSOB that is a nice power plant.

From what I’ve seen oil changes, air filter changes look to be straight forward, and access to all is on the right side of the engine. Only bummer is the oil filter lays on its side, so it should be easy to drain once you remove the skid plate, but you can’t prime the new filter, which is something I do. I hope the canister air filter which is tucked away under the right rear fender is better quality than the one Speed built and used, as their filter and housing are not good.

As far as the battery location that is going to be under the rear left seat, and the stock seat bottoms pull off and the battery is right there.

Here is a picture from UTV Stereo as they are doing a build out for the Sand Show. They are working on adding a second battery on the right side. But if you zoom in in on this picture you can see the stock battery on the left side under the seat.,

As far as a rock crawler? I think you will be disappointed. No one that I know of or have seen has tried it yet, but both Kawasaki and the people who did the demo ride said this was a purpose open desert machine.

My guess is Kawasaki feels the KRX is their perfect rock crawler with its clutching, power modes, and when crawing you don’t need the big power or top end like the H2. I think Kawi sees this as their purpose desert beast, and the KRX as their perfect Rock beast.

I agree with @NIKAL that KAW intended this to be their Open Desert UTV (A few places they mention this in recent vids), even the fact that the CVT clutch doesn't engage so fast means they are aiming for top speeds vs low end grunt.

Not sure in the case but I know they do that on the sea-doo switch pontoon boats. Brother in law was really disappointed in the speed/power of that thing but once the break in period passed it woke up quite a bit.

I think the break in is legit. I don’t think the cars de-tune themselves until a certain milage or hour, and then go full tune. But any new engine or transmission needs to break in and seat the metal. That’s why it’s always a good idea to change the oil in the first couple hundred miles to get out any assembly lube, machining debris or material from components meshing & seating in.

If a break in tune was legit you would have EVO, Whalen Speed and others mention this.

That’s what I said, I don’t think any cars have a special break in tune built into them. But they do say to drive easy for the first x amount of miles or hours, and you should change your oils within a few hundred miles.

Saw a video, they broke a belt and the SuperATV aftermarket KRX1000 belt worked in a pinch. Video didn't say how or why the belt broke.

So who knows how different those belts might be.

Saw this too. I too would like to know more about the belt failure, as there can’t be very many miles on that car, and we saw them in PC running in triple digit heat without belt issues. I also would be curious know when the belt broke how was the debris in the cover and difficulty cleaning out. How do you open the secondary clutch, and did the belt do any damage to the covers?? Lots of questions? But trust me I’m going to get lots of answers at the Sand Show.

Same vehicle that looks to have been used on the dyno video to see wheel hp. He’s also got the same tuner shop decal on the side of the car.

Does not mean that’s what caused the issue, as it sounds like there could have been an internal engine defect, but he did run it on a tuners dyno and he’s blown a belt and blown a engine all within 50 miles. Maybe just bad luck? Or maybe self inflicted?
